Yes, as far as I know. I've never had them changed on me before (though I got a last minute location change once at GenCon 2008 that killed my Call of PikaChulu game dead).
Should be good to go here however :)
BZ
Thanks. After spending most of my time at GenCon last year running games, I plan to actually play games this coming year, so I'll make every effort to sit in at least one of your sessions.
You have been warned. ;D
I want to play the second scenario to FaePooka's game. I will have to sign up when it is available. Probably try to get in on Friday. :)
What does EGS stand for? I am curious. I don't know the abbreviation. :)

Oh, sorry. That's Exile Games Studio (www.exilegames.com), the publishers of Hollow Earth Expedition RPG, what I consider the best pulp action game out there. :)
Intresting system with the dice mechanic. Do you use the special dice? I'd be interested in giving it a whirl :)
BZ
Tell you what. If for some reason you can't make any of the games, I'll gladly run a pick-up run for you guys. ;D
I'm game for a game ;D But I have to play using the special dice - I can't stand not knowing how they work. And as an aside - I hope they're not like Fudge Dice +/- - those I don't like :P
BZ
Pretty nifty :)
So given your typical pool limit, and maximum efficiency, how many of each color should a GM have at the ready?
For Example: If 20 was the upper limit - All you would need is six red, a single white, and a single blue (which allows you to generate everything between 1-20)
BZ
Unless something drastic pops up, it looks like i will be at Origins and Gencon both this year. Yay for having connections!
Okay, I'm starting to set down my GM schedule for GenCon.
At this point, I'm on the board for four slots: Thursday 8AM-12PM, Thursday 4PM-8PM, Friday 8PM-12AM, and Sunday 8AM-12PM. Don't know yet what I'm running, but based on my previous HEX exploits, it should rock.
I purposefully left my schedule open so I can try to get on a number of your games. We'll see what I get in on once registration starts. Expect to see quite a bit of me! ;D

Got any event numbers for these yet Nestor?
BZ
How many months/years did you work on BHB before making the jump to publication?
I'm in the same boat as Baboon Bill. :(
A proposal effort at my company dragged me into a dark dark hole and only let me see the light of day yesteday. I went to the site and found pretty much every run I was interested in playing in sold out. Blecch! :P
I'll try to make it to at least one of the sessions with generic tix in hand and soulful puppy-dog eyes. ;)
Hi, I along with my son were two of the Lucky ones to get into the Madagascar game. It was his #1 pick this year... we were talking about it last night and he says I need to start watching the peguins so I can get my cahracterizations down. He says I do a decent skipper but my Kilwolski is lacking. Thanks for running this...

I know you were running an 8:00AM Sunday game, but what did you plan on doing after that? Heading out early or trying to squeeze one more game in? Lady Z and I are easily talked into running a game for you guys if we can find an agreeable timeframe.
BZ
I'll see if Christy's up for a Saturday/Sunday stay! As long as I get to play a scene in which Santos uses ALL THE AMMO!
Hey, I caught a seat in the Fortune Cookie Fix game, so I'll get a chance to see y'all there at least.

Nestor if you can swing it try to Drop by the Penguin game on Saturday try to get in with a generic... It would be fun to play with you in game.

I'll certainly try. I actually have the slot free, since I couldn't find anything available. :)
If a space opens up you are definitely first in line (though I do have to stick with six players on the Penguins game). My other games can handle up 7 or even 8, so I can usually squeeze more seats into those.
BZ
The Cthonic Walrus-Ho-Tep, perhaps? ;D

"For the last time, man! Plan B is NOT Plan A with more explosives!"
;D
Oh, and it looks like Sat/Sun FTW.
sorry I cannot join in your GenCon Sunday funtime madness. I will be working the exhibit hall all day. You gotta come by the booth and say Hiyas!
Ooops, sorry, thought I mentioned that.
It's the Fat Dragon booth. They sell 2d and 3d build your own sets. Like towns, dungeons, etc etc etc. they have TONS of stuff. You buy the disc or download and then print out what you want to make on cardstock. Cut, fold, glue, and you have insta props! If you haven't seen them before make sure to stop by and check it out. ;)
I'll be helping work the booth from 11am to around 4. Hopefully I may even be in a costume of some sort if I get the time and funds :D
Excellent! Sunday morning it is! We'll still see if we can generic our way into another game too..
Still plan on a Sunday morning game with you, BZ. What time do you want to sleep in until? We won't bother you and the LadyZ until you are ready..
Besides, we will be driving back in again in the morning for it.
Talked to Tyler on Saturday, and he's totally psyched for a BHB Game. He's a fan of the source material. :D
Relax. Lady Z.
Remember, stress is only the confusion created when one's mind overrides the body's basic desire to choke the living daylights out of some jerk who desperately deserves it. ;D
33 days left to ORIGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
2 Seats have suddenly opened up for my Penguins of Madagascar Mythos Madness adventure at Gen Con this year - better grab 'em quick if anyone still wants 'em :)
BZ
I call Kowalski ;D ;D ;D
He's my favorite! :) That is considering I can get in of course. I have so many schedules for two conventions that I am at a total loss! :P
Ohhh man. BZ were we going to play BHB or Penguins on Sunday morning?
I still have no facking clue how to register online for events at Origins.. ???
BZ is putting a lot of organization and preparation into these games for the cons. I hope everyone appreciates the quality of the character sheets and maps and such. :) He goes all out for these ordeals. I am getting very excited to play games, it is time for the reality break. Anyone that is playing BHB games I guarantee you will have a blast. Great GM and fun adventutres. There are some I have yet to play as well and I live with him, so I am looking forward to seeing the top secret adventure I can,t read yet :P
Welcome to 101 uses for an old baby stroller! ;)
1. Kids carry baby dolls in them
2. Children put their friends in them
3. They are used for storage
4. They are used to tote around gaming supplies all around the conventions
useful yet hysterical ;D
Hmm... Fuzzy twenty-siders? ... ;D
BZ
Wow... So plush... I guess they do sorta look like twenty-siders (as apposed to something else entirely)...
BZ
>_<
Ouch times 40!
BZ
Careful with all this tattoo business - you'll go blind! :P
BZ
We made it - We're here 8)
And such a cozy little place with (oh yeah!) internet access ;D
BZ
We saw BaboonBill. It was cool. Did not get to play with him yet til Gen Con because his wife is not a gamer and he had birthday obligations to her. Wifes come first, always. ;D
I was watching a game BZ was running and I was approached by a typical gamer geek who said to me " you must be a spouse ( cause I looked bored at the moment, and I was ;))" and I replied " I am". I informed him that I had nothing to do at this time and proceeded to pull out my stack of gaming tickets for future fun I planned on being involved in. He said he was jealous and my husband was a lucky guy to have a gaming wife. I did not realize what a precious commodity that was to a gamer. ;D
You sound like a good husband Nestor. I am proud of you. ;D That sounds like a good idea" the gaming group". Your wife is not interested in the Con? She sounds like a wonderful lady :) Our kids think BZ and I are nuts. They take us for who we are and love us anyways ;) We took them to Con on The Cob to show them what we do and try to involve them and all I have to say is thank goodness we brought the computer so they could chat to their friends for 9 hours. One of our girls played in a game but the other ones, they just liked the family time ;D Bonding experience, you know ;)
Nestor do you have 4 girls as well? ???
Nestor do you have 4 girls as well? ???
Endless flight and you, how many? ???
FaePooka.... we are still waiting ;)
Oh, and I haven't forgotten everyone who won some swag at Origins - I'll be emailing/mailing that all out as soon as I get things organized in a day or so.
BZ
I've never been to Origins or GenCon. I'll have to make the trip sometime.
Yup, 4 kids all girls. This is where I usually pause for the inevitable sympathy noises from the audience. ;)
...The only males in the household have been me and the cat. ...
Nestor... you'd better not pull out of Penguins... I'm playing along with Nathan (your 1 boy fanclub) and we'd both be dissapointed if you werenm't at the table.
I wouldn't try and take a seat away from anybody! If Dave and I are free, we'll just come by and listen in on all the fun. :D
Just to let everyone who may not know in on the fun....
If you are coming to Indy early, there are FREE games being run pretty much all day Wednesday. Organized and sponsored by the Kentucky Fried Gamers. With the fantastic support of the restaurants - Ram Brewery and Scotty's Brewery.
Check out the GenCon forums, under the KFG for a listing of all the games/times/locations. Sign ups begin this weekend on the forums. There will be a separate thread for each game, simply make a post that you would like a seat. Games typically take 6 - 7 players. Once all the seats have been claimed the game is full.
You do not need to be a member of the KFG to join in the fun. All we ask is that if you sign up for a game YOU SHOW UP!! You WILL BE HEXED if you are a no show. If something happens that you can not make it please post so that someone else can take your seat.
:D
Yep Nestor! I am a proud member of the KFG. I am running a Conan d20 game on wednesday at Scotty's from 1-5pm.
So perhaps I will see you there. I am the only female GM at Scotty's (so far) so stop by and say hi!
Berka if you were going to be there early enough Wednesday we could possibly get you a space to run Penguins at Scotty's (yeah I'm KFG too) and Pooka does this mean I'll finally get to meet you too... after having you run in 3 of my online games?
...and I'm running "Lost on Gilligan's Island of the Dammned"- Think Gilligan's Island/Lost/Cthulhu.
Just thought I'd throw it out there and tempt you :D
I think I would like to bring my Cthopoly game (it runs about an hour to an hour and a half per game) on Wednesday. Think I would get any takers?
BZ
LMAO Lady Z!!
Help pareesh!
I know what to get you for your birthday then.
Ohhhh, yes. Nestor, we can distract her during the games of Ctholpoly with Cheezy Poofs!
Staring to get antsie ;D
BZ
I know, I'll run my pickup game 8-12 in the same room you're in, then we can play a round of Cthopoly 12 - 1 (or 2 at the latest) - that way you can see us and still have time to help your friends :)
What do you think?
BZ
About 20 minutes.
Yo Zerkas... you should consider Char Con in Charleston WV. Just about a 3 hour drive for guys. Small but fun. http://www.charcon.org/
I think we are closer to Baltimore than Indy ;D Please tell me you are not a Ravens fan....??????? ???
West VA is not real far from us either. We will look into that as well, thanks for the information. :)
Well, it's a 10-11 hour drive to Indy from Baltimore; that's counting stops.

Wow, do you attend DragonCon more frequently than GenCon? Or actually how many times have you made the trip? (I forget if you have said this was your first GenCon or not) -
BZ
I've actually not made it to DragonCon yet. I can really only afford one con a year, and I've chosen GenCon each time. ;)
About 2 hours from Cincinnati for us. The same to Origins in Columbus..

From what I have heard, if gaming is your thing, then GenCon is the way to go vs. DragonCon.
BZ
Here we are, packing....washing clothes.... gathering snacks ( very important :) ).
Getting ready everybody? ;D
Yeah, I'm frantically trying to get the adventure I'll be running finished up. I was supposed to get a finished scenario and got a skeleton plot and no PCs. I've been spending the last two weeks racking my brains trying to put together something that will fly and it's down to the wire. :(
Loved meeting you guys.... Madagascar penguins was da bomb...
Well, Penguins of M was right up there with my best highlights of the con. I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you. Thanks again for the fun evening, even you "Maurice/Dave".
On a side note, I'm sure Dave would appreciate you saying he deserved the T-shirt. But it was a mutual admiration society and we felt it was only fitting the outcome of the "prize" came down to a die roll.
So, on a final note ya'll are great story tellers and I'm looking to spinning a yarn with ya down the road, don't cha know.
btl
WTH?
JP, you should have tapped me for some character portraits! I'll do them for free!
:)
Is it wrong that I want to totally dress up like Nestor with a safari jacket and pith helmet for next year's conventions?
;D
BZ
Oh good news JP and Lori....
Jay and I will be at Con on the Cob this year. I forgot to mention it when I saw you last. We even got a booth in the exhibi hall! Jay will be pimping his forthcoming RPG Pantheon and we're 90% sure that we'll be selling Fat Dragon products as well.
So now you HAVE to come!
