Brock chases after group, having been left behind. He arrives to watch Ash licking a monolith, and then hears the evil moaning sound...

As Brock sets out some Pokésnax^tm, Pikachu takes to the skies with Scyther and gives the tower a flyby.

The two of them see that the dirt path climbs up the island to a clearing at the top where the massive stone tower rises high above the trees. It appears as though most of the tower’s southeast wall has been blown out, and in fact, the tower leans over precariously, being propped up on its southeast side by three huge wooden beams. Dark smoke rolls out of the breach in the tower, where a flickering orange glow radiates...

As everyone heads up the dirt path to join Pikachu and Scyther at the massive stone tower, they see what Pikachu saw - that most of the tower’s southeast wall has been blown out, and that the tower leans over precariously on that side, being propped up by three huge wooden beams. A large locked iron door enters into the tower's first floor on the west side, though one could easily climb over all the rubble and go in through the open breach on the southeast side of the tower.

Looking around, Brock and Nurse Joy spot something hiding among the trees near the tower clearing. It appears to be a Gengar, but something is wrong - almost as if it is actually frightened of something...

Ash sees that it is a Gengar and reads up on it.

The Gengar meanwhile, hits Officer Jenny with a Confuse Ray and begins to move back into the trees.

Poor Officer Jenny's eyes are left spiraling like mad as she reels from the Ghost Power!
