Also, I was expecting you to send Andreas into the slippery blood patch with the frenzying vampire (also known as a deathtrap), not for you to go in yourself too. That should be interesting XD.
Note that all grappling rolls would be made at 10 in the patch, and the difficulty to break out would be lowered to 4 for the person breaking out, raised to 8 for the person holding on.

Within the depths of the Abyss ancient creatures long forgotten by man and Cainite alike lie imprisonned, their torment has long filled the dark realm. Yet the incalculable powers of these beings is nothing to the Abyss, and the mystics know the strength they hold over them. Thus they take the wings of the Fallen as their own, and in the world of man their prey know terror as only the demons of old could inspire it.
System:
The Cainite uses the Obtenebration power Nightshades to summon two shadows from the Abyss that will form into a pair of identical wings on his back. He then uses the Obtenebration power Nocturne to summon a shroud to give his wings substance. Then calling on the dark power of the Abyss, the Mystic spends a willpower point to have the wings take on a semi-solid consistency that will allow the vampire to fly as if they had the Flight discipline (Rank 5).
The wings are always black and feathered, when flying they produce no sound and when attacked any weapon will simply pass through (except for fire, which will burn the wings and destroy them within 3 rounds) and sunlight (which destroys the wings instantly as per any normal Obtenebration effect - the merit Strength of Shadows does not apply here, though Fortify against Ahura Mazda works normally).
The power lasts for a number of hours equal to the user's Obtenebration rating, and can be stopped at any time before it's duration runs out.
If used while in Tenebrous Form the wings do not manifest as such but merely allow the vampire to levitate itself as a rapidly moving cloud of dark smoke.
Side Effects:
While under the effects of the ritual, the Cainite gains the Harbinger of the Abyss, Hand of Hades, Light Sensitive and Animate Shadow flaws. In addition, whenever seen in a mirror the cainite appears as a withered husk with broken, skeletal wings (as per Death's Reflection, with the winged caveat).

But for Fire, Faith and Sunlight (the three vampiric banes), you roll fortitude as per usual (due to the fact that the three banes have varying soak difficulties, as well as because they are the banes - shouldn't be as easy to ignore as physical damage), you don't spend blood for automatic soaking.

The entire point is that it's confusing. The first part is from Anton's perspective, when Husayn teleported behind him. Then Anton sees himself (I.e Husayn using Obfuscate 6) snap his neck and throw him to the tendrils, while you and Basilio see Anton throw Husayn to the tendrils (Though you don't see Husanton snap Antain's neck). So what you see is Husayn suddenly being thrown at the tendrils you thought had destroyed him, while Anton stands incredulous.

How it works is: basically, the weaker the vampire whose soul you devour is, the more negligible the side effects are. For example, you wouldn't even notice a 13-12th gen vampire. As you go higher though, the side effects grow worse. At 9-8th gen, you'll start to adopt some of their personality quirks, which will manifest as minor derangements. 7-6th gen will manifest as beings in your head, not quite destroyed and very present, they'll basically be "voices" - kinda like how Maurice is with Steeple, but malicious.
5th-4th gen runs serious risks of the methuselah's soul overpowering yours and taking over your body. Even if the methuselah willingly gives up, you'll practically become them as the power of their soul overcomes yours and your identity is overwritten by their own. Some small part of you will remain but you'll be fragmented.
An antediluvian - unless you are also an antediluvian or a fourth gen methuselah, you'll just straight up be possessed. If you are an ante or a methuselah, then you'll have to be careful, have maxed willpower and take extreme preparation to suppress their strength before commiting diablerie, otherwise you'll just end up like Tremere and Saulot.
Of course, the derangements are all temporary - though the worst ones will last centuries and will only weaken, not quite go away. Someone who diablerizes Michael might be back to something almost like their old selves after a century of torpor and three centuries of recovery.
The effects also grow weaker as you rise in generation. A fifth gen (born a fifthgen or a vamp who has diablerized one and gotten over the side effects) will have way fewer problems diablerizing vamps than you will.
Though it's worth noting I'm confering other benefits to diablerie in the game. A dot or two of the person's highest-ranked discipline or ability or attribute. You devour their soul, you go a little cray-cray, you get a little bit of their power as well as their blood.

I vote Heldric gets a small dagger that can absorb whatever it cuts into itself keeping it frozen in stasis, allowing it to then release it at any point according to the wielders will. So he could cut an ally and smuggle them in somwhere or cut a bad guy then release them into a huge fire later.

Husayn couldn't do anything even if he wanted to. No blood left (at all), one arm gone, most of his willpower pool spent, the other arm soon to be destroyed by his blood acid, and riddled with aggravated wounds. He'll be in torpor by the time you make any sort of decision regardless - if not from his wounds then from the fact that he spent his last blood point there at the end activating Potence to try and break through the tendrils (he broke through by one success, but Kiril was there so it would have been pointless, he'd have just been stopped anyway).

Also, note one thing - two of the players have opposing sidequests (sidequests where they work against each other). Both players have been informed of this, and I'm warning them now - if one player is significantly ahead of the other in updates, then i'll have to ignore one of you for a while, since I intend for the timelines for the sidequest(s) to result in a cross at some point (it's much more satisfying than both of you working against one another and never actually getting to compete with the other person. It's one thing to compete with someone head-to-head, another entirely to get to the place and find out the competition was finished without you).
How would the second scenario even work? If they're working against each other, how would you know what response to give to the one who's ahead in time, since their opponent hasn't acted yet.
Oh, and by the way - I was thinking, do you guys want me to summarize Boukephos' annointing of Anton and Kiril as official vampire lords? (In which case, i'll account for the lack of detail and description through implications that he thoroughly abused Dominate and left the vampires of the city with no clear image or sense of him save for his approval of you two) or do you want to run through it personally?
I'd personally prefer to summarize it, to save time, but if you guys want to run it personally then we can do it in your private sidequest threads. You'll never fall behind Berka or Forge so we'd be good on time there, I suppose. Main problem is that neither of you would be present for your "coronations", so to speak.

There is literally no reason for the two opposing sidequests to intersect, since one of the princes has reason to act long before the other.
I'm doing it because it's more satisfying plot-wise, and much more fun to run through. In general, posts tend to be our way of measuring time in a game, rather than anything else really.

Ah, actually, I made a mistake there - to do that Heldric would have had to score more successes than Steeple's willpower, which is nearly impossible for Heldric to do given Steeple's 10 in willpower. Steeple remembered Heldric perfectly.

Assassin's Honor
Husayn, the Assamite, is under pressure from Gabor the Bulgar to assassinate the Prince of Sofia, Basilio the Elder. In his attempt to avoid having to kill someone he has come to admire, Husayn has decided on a scheme that may allow him to keep the letter of his contract while simultaneously giving his victim a chance of survival. The Assamite is bound to make only a single attempt on Basilio's life because of the terms of his agreement; if the prince survives his attack, the terms of the contract are fulfilled and Husayn has discharged his duty. Husayn realizes that he may not survive an unsuccessful attempt on the prince's life, but his honor demands that he give Basilio every chance.
To this end, the characters receive information from a reliable source that an assassination attempt will be made on Prince Basilio
within the next few evenings. If the characters approach the prince with this knowledge, he will immediately put them in charge of preventing any harm from coming to him (on penalty of their unlives). If the characters have no interest in protecting the prince and don't reveal what they have discovered, they will receive an offer from an "interested party," who promises them great rewards should they circumvent the assassination attempt.
With careful investigation, characters may discover who is actually behind the assassination and even learn the identity of the potential assassin. If they unearth Husayn's involvement, they may ascertain that the Assamite himself is the source of their information. The characters may or may not prevent the assassination; saving Basilio could involve slaying Husayn or at least sending him into torpor. If they succeed, they will earn the prince's (and Constantinople's) friendship and Gabor's (and possibly other Bulgarian Tzimisce's) enmity. If Husayn somehow survives, he, too, will owe the characters a debt.
Pillars of Salt
The Cappadocian Kazimierz has noticed that workers in Tyniec Abbey's salt mines have been disappearing with alarming frequency. He enlists the assistance of the characters, promising future favors in exchange for discovering what is at the root of this disturbance. Realizing that the city of Krakow is attempting to gain control of the mine's considerable revenues, Kazimierz initially suspects that one of the city's Cainite population is behind the plot.
Therefore, he tells the characters to ascertain as much information as they can within the city before venturing into the mines. When (or if) the characters finally realize that none of Krakow's known Cainites is involved, they may begin to suspect that they are dealing with someone as yet unknown. Krakow might succeed in acquiring rights to the salt mines in a few years, and the characters' actions may provide the impetus for a change in ownership. Should they assist the city's Cainites in acquiring the rights, they gain valuable allies, but alienate Kazimierz. Yet, if they survive an encounter with the Salt Queen, they're already ahead of the game.
The Lure of the Land
(A Story for Tzimisce Characters and Their Allies)
The characters receive an invitation from the local voivode to participate in the dark rites of Kupala's Night. Setting aside any enmities that exist between themselves and their host, the characters travel to the site where the ritual sacrifice is to take place.
Unfortunately, the Tzimisce suffer a surprise attack from a coterie of Tremere (and one or two Gargoyles) before they can complete the ceremonies. The ritual goes awry while the Fiends are thus distracted, and the kupala demons manifest themselves physically. The resulting three-way battle proves to be horrific and deadly.
Basilio is from Constantinople (he's an agent of the Byzantine empire, though not necessarily Michael - there's a lasombra faction that struggles for power and influence in Constantinople, along with several other clans really).

The real hate-fest starts during the inquisition, where inquisitors - real, hardcore witch hunters with Dark ages True Faith - start hunting down everything. Elders get dragged out of their labyrinths during the day into the sun, vamps caught feeding are staked and destroyed - for the first time ever, shit gets real for the vampiric population. And the elders panic. They throw their childer as bait to the hunters and do their damned best to run away while they burn. The young vampires get pissed off and unite to form the anarch revolt, a purge of the elders of each clan. Lasombra is (supposedly - well, he lets Gratiano do it) destroyed, and the Eldest... Well, you'll see.
But the elders rally and put their almighty feet down, and the revolt is crushed. In the convention of thorns, which you will attend, the Camarilla is formed to ensure another inquisition, and another revolt, never happens again.How many years away is the Convention?
But with the formation of the Camarilla, the Sabbat also comes to life. These are the vampires who wouldn't give up, no matter what. They became the Sword of Caine and they struck on the very night the Convention of Thorns ended, an act of defiance that ends with... Well, you'll see.
They also create the Vaulderie to allow more childer to break the blood bonds, by... Well, you'll see that too ;)>:(

I would actually avoid that for a Storytelling game (where possible). Once you get maps involved, it brings in an tactical element that isn't terribly conducive to the overall feel of these types of games.

And since Anton entered a frenzy on drinking Gabor's blood he suffers no wound penalties. Since he's drinking Gabor's blood e also gets to use that to make himself stronger whole Gabor runs out of resources, etc, etc.
And since Anton's stamina is maxed out with blood, Gabor is having a really hard time hurting him faster than he can heal (using Gabor's own blood), even with Potence.
One more turn and I would have had Basilio drop in (literally)n to save Anton, but Aman pulled it off himself.
Now I'm just looking forward to the diablerie.
I want to make them all matter in some way (especially these big ones), hence the whole set up for Anton vs Gabor round two: "This isn't even my final form!".

It's not soul-stealing, because you have to put the soul back. Eken could take Gabor out for a few seconds and improve Gabor's mental state and virtues and path rating, and then put him back into Anton if you really want him to XD
It's not a power that's used offensively, it's a healing power.
