Title: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on April 27, 2015, 10:12:15 pm
1199, January 18th, 2:30 AM
Kronstadt,
Domain of the Ashen Knight Anton Petrov Veranin

Within Kronstadt's church lie many secrets. It's shadows hold eldritch creatures summoned by the dark lord that counts the city as his domain, the walls of its basement hide secret openings to his lair, it's priests are strong with his blood; within its walls one good man struggles to keep to his humanity while serving the dark lord, and fights constantly against the stain that has begun to form on his soul.

Tonight, another soul finds its way to the church...

---

In the secret haven of the church's basement Anton lies back, his eyes closed, surrounded in a shroud of darkness. He breathes in the essence of the Abyss, and breathes it out once more - each time exhaling more of the unnatural darkness. The room was filled completely, but through his abyssal sight Anton could still spot the spirits he'd summoned from the darkness in the air. He'd grown more attuned to the darkness beneath the world, his teacher would visit him from time to time and had judged him ready to begin summoning the creatures of the Abyss; now the essence of darkness was more his to command than it had ever been.

He hears a knock to the secret door that lead into his haven. His eyes shoot open and he takes a sudden breath, and the darkness of the room flows into him. He gets up and opens the door, reinforced with locks far too heavy for any mortal man to move. Brother Joseph waits for him.

"Brother Anton, a letter has arrived for you - there is no recognizable seal, but I believe you should read it."

Anton nods, and silently takes the letter, and opens it to read.

Anton quickly notes Kiril's nicely flowing script.

My Dearest Brother,

I have recently learned of a threat to our sire, Basilio is in great danger and I am afraid that I cannot save him myself. Come to Sofia at once, we must act before it is too late.

The letter is short, and ends abruptly - but the message is clear.

Anton grimaces.
"Unfortunate. It seems we will be forced to leave Krondanst for Sofia, brother." Anton states.

"Summon the Fathers, brother. I must make arrangements for the duration of trip."

Joseph nods and leaves, soon Father Thomas and Father Damien are at the door, where they both wait Anton's word bleary-eyed.

"What is it brother?" Father Damien asks.

"Brother Joseph and I are required to leave Kroneatchildrenast for the while. My shadows shall deal with those deserving of punishment. We should not be gone for long." Anton states.

The fathers nod and go off to make preparations, Brother Joseph goes to Anton: "Brother, perhaps it would be best if I stayed here myself? The fathers don't know how to properly keep your plans in place, and we will be gone for some time - half a month at least, if the trip is short and we stay there only one day."

OOC: holy shit that's long. XD

Anton looks at Brother Joseph.
"Are you capable of fulfilling my plans?"

Joseph nods. His features do not betray the pain in his voice.

"Yes, unfortunately I am."

Anton smiles in the darkness, pleased.
"Good. I trust you will do the Lord's work well."

"Procure for me a proper driver, brother. Truly should have already done so."

Brother Joseph leaves. Anton has a driver before the end of that evening, and he leaves soon thereafter.

January 25th, 3:39 AM
Sofia, Serdica Castle
Domain of Basilio the Elder

Anton's trip was swift and uneventful, he arrived at Sofia within a week of his departure. He passed through the gates uncontested - the guards recognized him and none would dare halt his progress even if they hadn't.

Passing the church of St. Sofia on his way to the castle, Anton can't help but wonder what danger could be posed to his sire? Husayn - his most loyal friend and advisor - should be able enough to root out any potential spies or assassins; the shade that always hid within Basilio's shadow was a most fearsome creation, he sometimes believed it was impossible to best the abyssal creation unless one was already possessed of mastery over darkness, and then Anton's own mentor, the mystic Desiderio and another loyal friend of Basilio's, was counted amongst the most powerful priests of shadow.

For something to be able to threaten him, it would have to be great indeed.

At the gates of Serdica Castle he is once more let through - this time with deference. The castle guards recognize their master's childe.

---

A servant knocks at Kiril's door and quickly alerts him - Anton had arrived in Sofia and even now was making his way through the castle. Strange - he hadn't sent ahead to announce his arrival or anything of the like.

Kiril instructs the servant to find Carinus and request his presence, as well as sending someone to guide Anton to him.  As a good seneschal, he'd like to know what the ashen knight is up to before basilio can be disturbed.

The servant leaves to find Carinus, another is sent to find Anton.

---

Anton is soon found on entering the castle by a servant who tells him that his brother wishes to see him - the servant will guide him if he follows.

Anton allows the servant to guide him to Kiril. Time can't be wasted, after all.

"It had your handwriting." Anton states, taking out the letter, and handing it to Kiril.
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Sethaniel on May 04, 2015, 10:59:56 am
Kiril studies the letter, using both his own natural investigative skills, and spirit's touch to determine anything he can about this letter.
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on May 04, 2015, 06:08:00 pm
The copy is perfect - the handwriting is identical to his own, the paper is the same type Kiril uses for his own private letters, the ink even appears to be from the same inkwell Kiril has in his study right now; if Kiril didn't know any better he'd have said he'd written it himself.

Kiril tries reading the object using his vampiric abilities - but he finds himself having great difficulties. He learns very little but that strikes him as he reads the letter is the overwhelming sense of regret and shame that has seeped into the writing. It feels like the letter is an apology, almost.

His musings are interrupted by another knock at the door.

Kiril looks towards the door. He's not expecting anyone other than Carinus.

"Enter."

Carinus is  to be found behind the door, and enters.

"You asked to see me Kiril?"

Kiril shows him the letter.  "Something duplicitous is going on here." He quickly but concisely explains for Carinus the situation as he understands it.

"Hmph, perhaps that would explain this - a servant i've never seen before came up to me after the one you sent and gave me this - ", Carinus pulls an envelope out an inner pocket, this one has Kiril and Anton's names delicately scrawled over the top.

"She was very insistent on it getting to you."
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Sethaniel on May 05, 2015, 05:34:08 pm
Kiril uses spirits touch again. he's not particularly hopeful of getting anything, but maybe it'll tell him
If the letter was sent by the same person.

He'll give it To Anton to actually open, just in case.

"Carinus, was there anything at all you might've noticed about this 'unknown' servant?"
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on May 05, 2015, 06:49:51 pm
"Not a thing, she was highly unremarkable, possessed no particular scent; it is very possible that what I saw was not who I saw."

Kiril's spirit touch reveals nothing - not from Carinus, who was the last to handle the letter, nor from whoever had handled it before him.

The letter possesses no poisons or othersuch things that Anton or Kiril can detect.

Childer of Basilio,

I apologize for the deception, but I needed you both here for what I need to tell you. There is a plot to assassinate your sire; this much is true, and it is with only the utmost secrecy that the matter can be handled. Meet me in the church of St. Sofia. It shall be empty for us.

Please, make great haste,
A friend

The Church of St. Sofia, which stands near the eastern wall of the city, is a great show of the byzantine influence of Bulgaria's capital. Erected in the late sixth century during the rule of emperor Justini, St. Sofia (or "Blessed Wisdom") is a three knave basilica formed in the shape of a cross, with an elaborate dome to mark the intersection. Built from brown bricks laid in intricate patterns that give the church a sense of depth and richness of texture, the church rests on the foundations of an even older predecessor destroyed by the Huns in the fifth century. Near the church stands an elaborate, romanesque villa that is the residence of the Archbishop of Serdica, Brencis Vidor, a bitter cleric who aspires to restore the title of Patriarch to the position he occupies.

The church's old stone doors creak open with a loud grating sound, they swing open easily enough with Anton and Kiril's inhuman strength aiding them.

The place is empty, and from her altar a statue of St. Sofia rises proudly from the earth, carved from pure marble and likely imported from Constantinople. It looks beckoningly at the two vampires; Anton and Kiril feel slightly uncomfortable in the holy place.

Moving into the church, the two hear the stone doors behind them slam shut, as well as a heavy bar fall into place. Looking back, they see nothing and no one.

Kiril immediately assumes he's dealing with someone whose Obfuscate outweighs his Auspex.
He summons dark steel tentacles as a protective measure.

Anton doesn't bother looking around.

"Show yourself." He demands.
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on May 06, 2015, 04:39:09 pm
6 Dark tendrils sprout from a location of Kiril's choosing.

Anton's demand is not met, though a voice does answer him - it resonates through the cathedral, the acoustics of the area make detecting the location of the voice far beyond Anton's legitimately pathetic perceptive abilities.

"I don't think i'll do so just yet."

The voice is a woman's, calm, soothing, light but well projected.

"I doubt it would be to my advantage."

Kiril's tentacles proceed from his own shadow.  he wraps two of the tentacles protectively around himself, leaving the other four poised for potential action, should the need arise.

"I'm sure you're aware of who we are," he states to the general vicinity.  "You requested this meeting; are you prepared to explain yourself?"

"Do you know Basilio sleeps in a secret haven near his villa by the House of the Red Eagle?"

Neither of the brothers knew this - as far as they were aware, Basilio dwelt within within a complex of secret apartments within Serdica castle. In fact, they'd even been there a few times. Perhaps the woman is lying.

Another voice speaks out this time - Kiril, whose senses had been busily working away at determining the source of the voice, are thrown off - it's clearly coming from somewhere else now.

It's the voice of a boy. Young, tender, soft.

"It's because he's afraid. He doesn't tell anyone, but he's terrified. It's why he keeps that shade with him all the time. He's not wanted here, he fears the assassins hiding in the darkness that not even he can control."

From the shadows directly next to Anton, he hears an urgent whisper; this time it's a little girl.

"Because he's right to be afraid."

Turning his head rapidly to see the source of the voice, Anton sees nothing.

"And you care because?"
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on May 06, 2015, 09:14:50 pm
Kiril would gasp if he was still mortal. The stake rips soundlessly through his back - it produces no sound despite the violent and sudden act - in fact, the air feels dead to his unusually sharp senses; the attacker moved faster than he could fathom. He can't even scream to warn Anton, who noticed nothing.

This time a man's voice, one that is familiar.

"Because I am bound by contract to kill him. I need make a single attempt on his blood and soul, to the best of my ability."

Post by: Drakilian on May 06, 2015, 10:09:18 pm
"Basilio has many enemies, but he made one too many in Gabor, who even now waits in Constantinople to hear of Basilio's death."

Husayn lashes out at Anton's leg on seeing the knight was recovering instead of collapsing, Anton falls, and he feels more of the blood poison begin to seep through his armor as Husayn bleeds on him.

"Why you? Basilio is no match for me alone, had he your help he might have survived."

Anton begins to fade from consciousness - the dullness of the poison overtakes him, but he hears Husayn's last words.

"After years in this city, Basilio dies tonight. I am sorry it had to end this way."

Anton feels a stake being pushed through his chest before he fades to black.

---

Anton wakes up what feels like hours later. He feels sluggish and weak, but the poison fades rapidly.

Straining to move, Anton is astonished to find he is perfectly able, despite the wooden stake firmly stuck in his chest. Gently feeling and edging the thing about he feels a slight cut along the edge of his heart, but that the stake had not gone straight through - Anton could move just fine. Turning his head, he sees Kiril - legitimately staked and paralyzed - laying by the marble statue of St.Sofia.

Anton grunts, as he pulls out the stake from his heart, and quickly rushes to kiril, to remove it from his brother.

He heals his wounds, and looks to his brother.

"We need to go find our sire, brother." He says with urgency.

Kiril slowly brushes himself off, looking around the now empty church and muttering to himself.

"Does he really expect us to be of any use to Basilio?  We were utterly helpless.  He announced his presence, then walked up and staked me."

"We didn't realize he was to attack us. With this knowledge we should be at least able to inform Basilio, brother. We can't waste time." Anton states, as he motions for Kiril to follow, and he begins to head towards the tavern (grabbing a body to drain, and stat boosting)

Taking off after the ghoul both Kiril and Anton are led through a series of winding twists and alleyways until they arrive at a dark, unassuming corner. The two vampires have difficulty keeping up with the ghoul - and both are surprised, they both were moving inhumanly fast; the ghoul must have been spending his blood to move preternaturally fast.

Jorgi jumps into the air and hits an indistinguishable spot on the wall that is pushed inwards with an hardly perceptible grating sound. Under the hidden button a door behind to slide open soundlessly.

Jorgi dashes through the door.

Passing through the door Kiril immediately notes that Jorgi is no longer anywhere to be seen, nor are his footsteps to be heard.

The room feels cold - far colder than it should be. While neither of the two vampires are affected by it Anton recognizes the feel of the Abyss; his haven in Krondstadt's church felt much the same.

Looking about with dark sight (and Kiril with his enhanced senses), the vampires note that the room they've just entered into is entirely bare and seemingly empty. Nor is it particularly large, being square shaped and only perhaps seven feet long and wide.

They might have both assumed a trap - but the door did not close behind them.

"Lord Basillio?" Anton asks, looking for any patches of oozing shadows. Hopefully him and his brother did not arrive too late.

He then closes the door. If the assasin hasn't arrived yet, they should be able to notice him through the door opening.

Anton finds that the darkness here is not alive, simply present.

Kiril's careful gaze picks out the slightest contours of a pressure panel on the ceiling, right at the center of the room. Perhaps another secret switch?

Going outside to close the door Anton finds that he is unable to do so - there is no discernible way to shut the thing.

"You found something, Kiril?" He asks.
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on May 22, 2015, 04:32:25 pm
Kiril reaches up to the low ceiling and pushes up.

The door rushes shut rather smoothly, not a sound is made.

Kiril hears a faint click and the almost non-present sound of a door sliding open. Activating his darksight, Anton sees that another secret door had opened, this one leading down a (to him) very brightly lit stairway into the earth.

It immediately occurs to them both that it would be impossible for Jorgi to have opened this stairway before Anton and Kiril got into the room - as the panel Kiril pressed also closed the outside door. If Jorgi had gone down this stairwell, both of them would have been sealed outside.

Kiril gets to the edge of the stairs - and soon realizes that they are very, very wet. In the total darkness, Kiril is unsure as to how steady he can keep himself. Feeling around he finds no handrail. He has no idea just how far down these stairs go, a bad enough fall could prove to be rather debilitating.

Anton might be able to go it better, being able to see so clearly - or Kiril could use his dark tendrils to steady himself.

Making his way down the stairs, Anton has to catch himself several times - the steps are sloped slightly downwards, smooth and incredibly slick with what appears to be slight water - it's almost like it was meant for anyone travelling down them to fall.

Anton also notes plainly visible, tiny holes in the walls was he walks down. They are too high for him see into properly, however.

The stairway goes on for some time before reaching the bottom, leading to a hallway - which appears to be blocked by a thick wall with several infinitesimally small holes going through it. Putting his eye at one of the holes Anton cannot quite tell what is on the other side.

Anton looks to Kiril.

"There's a wall in the way now, with tiny holes like the rest of this floor. I suspect that it's use would be to spread some sort of gas throughout the room. Any thoughts aside from destroying the wall?"
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour

Kiril follows Anton down the stairs, using the tendrils he'd summoned from his encounter with Husayn to steady himself by reaching into the holes Anton mentioned were in the walls and grabbing hold of the small metal bars within.

Having arrived at the bottom with his brother, he has his tendrils recede back into his clothing.

"I doubt the wall would be so easily destroyed - besides, it might take too much time. There has to be another way to find Lord Basilio, perhaps there is a way here for his most trusted ghouls - the mortals that would be unable to use his powers to bypass his traps."

Kiril begins feeling along the walls, searching for what he is sure has to be there - some sort of switch, another hidden panel, a ring to twist, something, but he finds nothing of any use whatsoever.

He moves on to the wall with the holes. At first he tries fitting his tendrils through them, which works rather remarkably - but there are no secret switches behind those either. Feeling along the face of the wall he does notice something though - the entire thing appears to be split right along the middle.

"Hmm, Anton, help me with this would you? The wall appears to be split, you take one side and i'll take the other. Perhaps we can force it open."

With both Lasombra exerting the full extent of their dark strength, the stone wall slowly grates open, just far enough to be large for a human being to squeeze their way through. The massive block/wall of stone appears to be a full 20 feet thick, Anton and Kiril might both wonder as to how it was brought down here.

Squeezing their way through the gap, Anton and Kiril emerge on the other side - only to be stopped dead in their tracks, Anton by the sight, Kiril by the smell and the feeling of the floor under his feet.

Right after passing through the wall the hall splits into two directions, to the left and to the right. The right continues off into the darkness as would be expected, and the left stops after only six meters at a dead end.

At that dead end, nailed to the wall in pieces, is Anton's mentor Desiderio.

The mystic's head lies at his own feet, his pure black eyes opened wide in shock and perhaps a slight fear. His legs have been separated from his torso and nailed to the stone wall with small metal bars, as have his arms. A wooden stake has been forced through his heart, and the mystic's viscous black blood almost completely engulfs the small left hall.

Anton looks on in shock.

"Looks like we were not the only ones who were defeated by Husayn. He also staked the mystic Desderio." Anton states.

"We shall have to help him later, he has lost far too much blood." Anton states, heading on to the left.

"Ill examine the left end then we shall head down the right." Anton adds,  heading towards the left path and pushing against the wall, unstaking his mentor, and looking for a hidden button or something.
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on June 08, 2015, 12:06:55 am
Using his tendrils and his own strength, Anton manages to rip out the metal bars keeping Desiderio's various bodyparts nailed to the wall, as well as remove the stake in his mentor's heart.

Though he is unable to wake his mentor from his sleep, he puts the man as close to "back together" as possible.

Looking at the wall, he sees the holes left behind by the metal bars, each several inches long. For a moment, Anton might feel some doubt - Desiderio was a very powerful mystic, and a fearsome foe in his own right - to destroy him like this would have been no mean feat.

Pushing on the wall, Anton is unable to do anything to move it aside - and his dull eyes find nothing that would hint at a secret door.

Perhaps Kiril would be better suited for this?

As Kiril approaches the wall he notes a distinct breeze - strange, they were very, very far underground and the air had been rather stagnant up until now, but he was sure of it - there was something disturbing the blood-filled smell of the corridor.

There is a squelch as he struggles somewhat to lift his foot out of the mystic's blood, doing so he feels against the bloody wall with his hands. He notes 6 distinct holes made by the metal bars that had been thrust through Desiderio's body. With some surprise he notes that the apparent breeze comes from these holes - air flows through them. The wall is not so much of a dead end as it seems, he thinks.

Noting the position of the gaps on the wall, Kiril realizes quickly that the holes appear to have been placed to weaken the structural integrity of the block to their progress. A strong enough blow would bring the whole thing down.

Anton sends his tendrils through the holes made by the metal bars and then has them pull violently. A hole is ripped from the wall, the stone sending dust into the air as it breaks with a loud crack. A small opening, large enough for the two of them, is made in the wall.

Making their way down the corridors, Anton notes that the area appears to be far more decorative than beforehand - various gargoyles fill the hallways, the walls are covered in ornamental designs and engravings.

As they pass into the decorated hallway, Kiril becomes conscious of a faint scent on the air - almost like that of oil.

"Anton, don't be foolish, our shadows are not powerful enough to suffocate the flames. Stay to the sides, when people normally walk down a hallway they walk through the middle, and Lord Basilio seems fond of pressure plates rather than tripwires. We'll likely be safe if we move that way.

From the way the air clings to me I believe the dampness of this hallway in particular to be caused by oil, not water. A very faint smelling oil, yes, but oil nonetheless.  A trap here would need nothing more than a strong spark to ignite the entire area.

It is a good thing we did not bring a torch, we might be dead already."

The two progress up the hallway for some time, soon the smell of oil is left behind and they can walk a little easier.

The hall ahead of them is clearer now, and more ornate than even the hall before. Now Anton begins to see scenes from the book of Nod carved into the wall. Caine being banished to the Abyss, his conquering of the darkness that dwelt within the under-realm. Kiril sees much the same, tracing his hands along the side of the hall as he walked that way.

Kiril holds out his arm and the shadows coalesce into a ten-foot long pike that Kiril plants at his feet and then lets fall onto the ground in the direction they intend to move forward to. The pike strikes stone.

"Well, it isn't longer than 10 feet at least."

"If you can put him back together..." Kiril mutters under his breath, confident in his brother's horrific perception hindering him sufficiently that he would not catch the slight to his mentor.

The two brothers continue down the hall. The carvings on the wall change from scenes from the Book of Nod to scenes of the creatures locked within the Abyss. Anton sees demons, fallen angels and other monsters too horrific for human eyes surround him. He feels the evil of the abyss, and the power it possessed to hold such creations in its grasp.

Further in he begins to see it - all around him he sees wisps of shadow run through the carvings, accentuating them against the wall, brighter than the glow which already permeated the hallway. Soon the carvings begin to combine into a single form, a single figure carved against the wall, on the floor, in the ceiling.

Anton thinks he recalls hearing about such defensive measures. As he sees the obstruction up ahead, he is sure of it.

An entirely hollow statue of a fearsome Leviathan blocks their advance. He'd heard of such a defense being employed by Archbishop Monçada, a summoning of one of the fallen creatures of the Abyss. It would be bound to a statue of its likeness, forced to protect its master's haven. The arbishop's haven was said to be impregnable for its existence, hundreds have died trying to infiltrate it - though the archbishop's haven is a special case, as the demon is reportedly not bound to a statue of any kind, and is held in check by the power of Monçada's blood, making it even more difficult to defeat than one might first imagine.

Everything till now - every trap, every obstacle, even the floor that appeared to lead to the abyss - all of that could be avoided. But this - this could not be avoided. This monster would have to be destroyed.

Yet, as they draw nearer, despair seizes Anton's cold heart as he realizes they will not have to destroy the Leviathan after all. For such has already been done for them.

The statue is cracked in many places, and a hole is visible at the chest, black liquid leaks from said hole and chest, and completely covers the floor.

Blood is also everywhere. On the floors, on the wall, even some on the ceiling, and it audibly sizzles as the two vampires approach the statue. Anton sees it is in the process of eating through the rock.

This has to be it. Basilio's last line of defense. All he has left now is the demon hiding within his shadow and his own powers.

"This was recent, brother. Whatever happened here, Husayn could not have escaped unharmed; we must hurry."

Anton nods.

"Yes, quite." He states, though his mind is mostly on the dead Leviathan. A creature from the abyss this powerful... And yet destroyed? How could that be?

"Let me guide you, the blood will burn the skin."
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on July 09, 2015, 05:05:42 pm
Guiding Kirl through the acid blood pooled at the bottom of the floor, Anton and Kiril make it through without touching any of the acid with their skin - though it begins to eat away at their boots. Anton's travelling boots last a bit longer than Kiril's fine nobleman's dress, but both have to be discarded before any serious damage is caused to the wearers.

Proceeding barefoot through the hall, Anton soon arrives at a crossroads of sorts. Down the left hall he sees a series of wooden doors, the same down the right hall. Directly forward he sees a stairway that leads upstairs.

There are no plaques of any sort indicating what each room is. If this is Basilio's haven, he would know that himself. Yet another measure to confuse invaders, it seems.

The Leviathan, being a creature of the abyss, possessed no blood. The black liquid that leaked out of the statue that bound it was part of the ritual, abyssal essence liquified and held within the fetish.

Husayn's own acidic blood cannot be sensed anywhere within Kiril's range of vision, nor can he hear the sounds of combat - even though Basilio's shadows would drown out sound, Kiril is certain the fighting between two such potent elders would shake the very earth. Perhaps Husayn has not yet reached their master?

Anton heaves and strains to pull the massive door open, where unoiled hinges (perhaps purposely unoiled hinges) screech mightily into the final room of Lord Basilio the Elder's labyrinth.

Rushing down the short hallway, the two vampires stumble onto a scene almost out of a tale:

The room is luxurious and decadent, clearly intended to provide every comfort an elder of Basilio's magnitude could desire. A pale fire that gives off neither heat nor smoke burns within an ornate fireplace, at the foot of which is a large stuffed chair of egyptian origin. Basilio, Lord of Sofia, sits in it. Behind him, Husayn, master among masters, stands with a sword drawn, dripping his own blood. His clothing has been ripped to pieces around his upper left torso, where he appears to have suffered terrible damage to his body - the Leviathan left its mark.

Basilio is not unaware of the situation - Kiril and Anton had walked into a conversation, it seems.

"You truly intend to kill me then, Husayn? You would give up everything we have strived to accomplish together?"

Husayn's voice is clear and neutral, telling nothing of the pain he must feel.

"I have taken a contract, and I shall execute it. Enough, my friend; your children have come to watch you die."

Moving so quickly they can only begin to follow him with their eyes, Husayn's blade almost vanishes from sight as it moves up and then rapidly down, in a simple maneuver to decapitate the dark lord - but Basilio is not without his own defenses. With almost equal speed, the master Lasombra shifts out of his seat and holds out his right hand as if he held something within it. Darkness materializes into the form of a dark, obsidian blade just in time to stop the advance of the assassin's killing blow. Both strike with such force that their blades break, Husayn's snapping at the edge and Basilio's shattering into a thousand abyssal crystals. The force from the blade also expels some of the blood on Husayn's blade, which strikes Basilio's body and begins eating through his clothing. The elder shows no pain.

Without missing a step Husayn unsheathes a bloody dagger, moving to eviscerate Basilio - but the Lasombra grabs and twists the assassin's arm. Moving him aside just in time to avoid the blow.

Now put slightly off balance, Husayn takes advantage of his superior speed to maneuver himself back into a position of safety behind Basilio, where he prepares his next finishing strike. The Lasombra starts to turn but he moves too slowly to stop the blow...

Kiril and Anton start forward both know they will be unable to reach their sire in time. Husayn wears a look of open despair as he realizes he will succeed.

The room grows cold.

A shade bursts out from Basilio's shadow and catches Husayn's dagger in one dark hand, squeezing with such absolute strength that the Kiril can hear the dagger's steel groan and snap. The pain would be horrific, had it been capable of feeling such.

From the prolific shadows within the room tendrils sprout, blessed with a strength from the Abyss greater than even Basilio's. Husayn's eyes widen, though he no longer appears to despair. He ducks and weaves a slips around the attacks, avoiding even those that Basilio adds into the fight. He moves as a blur, and in fact Anton is not sure that the Assamite isn't using some discipline to hide his form.

As it goes, Husayn has begun to dodge towards Anton and Kiril. If there's any time for them to act, it would be now.

Kiril surrounds the assamite with a shroud of night, whilst sending all his tentacles to aid in the attack.

Like everyone but Anton, Kiril  is also touched by despair.  After all, the assamite has already proven the brothers stand absolutely no chance of even inflicting damage on him, let alone defeating him in combat.

Perhaps their inevitable deaths will at least provide their lord with a momentary distraction of which he might take advantage.
Title: Re: Anton and Kiril - Assassin's Honour
Post by: Drakilian on July 17, 2015, 11:48:00 am
As the nightshades begin to surround him, Kiril's shroud envelops him, and tendrils of all kinds surround him, Husayn stops moving. He stays still long enough for each to strike him. No one can see the brief smile he gives at their extreme efforts, so covered is he by darkness.

Basilio, Anton and Kiril being so focused on the blob of darkness that they assumed was Husayn, did not see Husayn appear behind Anton. As Husayn snaps Anton's neck before throwing him away into the mass of tendrls, only Anton noticed that as he fell back, it was not Husayn who had struck him, but a mirror image Anton himself.

Basilio and Kiril turn aside with surprise to see Anton looking incredulously at Husayn, who lies on the ground at the base of the mass of tendrils wounded. It looks to them that Husayn did not completely escape the tendrils; his neck hanging at an odd angle. The assassin tries to speak but sound refuses to escape his mouth, perhaps because of the broken throat.

Anton looks at his own hands, as if surprised he had managed to fell such a foe. "His injuries must have been too much for him", he mutters.

Anton knows that the only thing keeping him from becoming riddled with tendrils is the group's confusion, so with a quick boost of will and blood, Anton forces his tendrils towards Husayn, along with nightshades, as he quickly escapes the death trap.

Having not much time before Anton's tendrils react and the deception is revealed, Husayn draws two throwing daggers from his belt whilst the two others are distracted and rapidly spits blood onto both of them. Kiril notices instantly, as does Basilio. This blood is stronger than the others, so strong that even as they watch it begins to eat through the two throwing knives. Before anything can be done, the assassin throws both knives directly at Basilio - they move far more quickly than any thrown knife has any right to move, and it is just barely that the shade sprouts in time to stop the two blades, unable to summon tendrils quickly enough. The shade shimmers briefly, and for a second it seems as if the thing would fade back into the abyss, having sustained wounds too terrible for it to live - but it subsists, however weakly, and fades back into Basilio's shadow.

It takes a second for everyone in the room save for Husayn to register the third dagger that had appeared in Basilio's chest.

Kiril is astonished. There was no third dagger thrown. Husayn had only made the throwing motion for two and a third had never been seen.

The dagger drops from Basilio's body as Basilio instantaneously turns himself into a shadow - and begins to rapidly slink away from the fireplace. Perhaps it could still burn him, despite its non-heated nature?

More tendrils sprout from the darkness and dart towards Husayn, who phases out of place into the one corner of the room currently out of reach of Ahriman's grasp. He pulls out two clay balls...

Anton quickly attempts to create a wall of Dark Steel to protect his master from whatever Husayn is throwing. To think that one kindred would be able to do so much against three others.

Since only one area of the room is free from shadow, Kiril tries to fill it with a shroud of night.

Anton summons three tendrils around his master's shadow, while Kiril fills Husayn's part of the room with a Shroud of night.

The room goes dead quiet. For a few seconds nothing happens, and Anton wonders if Husayn had just bluffed so as to escape. Kiril sees him however. The assassin briefly says some few words of power, and he vanishes. Kiril's senses pick him up exactly where Basilio's shadow is.

Husayn throws the clay ball down, then teleports back to where he'd originally stood.

The clay ball hits the ground and shatters with a sudden and frightening explosion. Hot fire covers everything in a five foot radius, and the force from the blast stuns Anton.

Basilio's shadow and his shade look like they are consumed completely by the flames. Anton's tendrils are in the process of being consumed and Basilio's tendrils begin to fade, likely as a result of his death.

Husayn looks with mourning at the fire. He believes he has, unfortunately, won.

It is for this that he does not notice Basilio re-taking physical form behind him. It is for this that he does not see the jagged obsidian blade forming in Basilio's right hand. It is for the shroud that Kiril has wrapped around them both that Husayn does not hear the whistling of the blade through the air as the dark lord drives the sword through Husayn's chest with such force as to lift the assassin off the ground, impaling him completely.

Kiril doesn't quite know when the Lasombra overlayed himself with a nightshade, or when he split off from it, but the master shadow-worker had undoubtedly done so at some time during the fight, anticipating some use of fire once he assumed shadow form.

Anton, of course, is left thinking his master has just been brutally killed by whatever hides within the darkness of Kiril's shroud.

Seeing his master killed, Anton quickly sends off tendrils towards Kiril's darkness, aiming to at least damage Husayn. One can only hope him killing his friend would keep him still for a moment.

Kiril does nothing, assuming he would only be in his master's way at this point.

Husayn hangs immobile, impaled on Basilio's summoned blade. The tendrils summoned by Basilio's shade begin to crawl up and slide around Husayn's limbs, to immobilize him. Not quickly enough.

Steeling himself, Husayn reaches for the blade sticking out of his chest with his right hand and grabs onto it so hard that the jagged edge cuts deeply into his fingers. With supernatural strength he snaps off the edge of the obsidian blade , then twists violently, pulling himself free. The assassin looks terrible, with the gaping chest wound and the injuries sustained from combating the statued Leviathan.

His situation does not improve when Anton's tendrils reach into the darkness and snag his left arm and right leg, beginning drag the injured vampire to his doom.

Still unable to see anything due to the shroud, Basilio does not see Husayn's next move - not that there would have been anything he could have done to stop it.

Reaching out with his left hand as far as possible in the direction he knows Basilio is in, Husayn squeezes very, very tightly.

The clay ball left in his hand shatters.

Fire consumes the small area, engulfing Husayn and Basilio both. Anton's tendrils, so close to the point of origin, are destroyed instantly. In wake of the scorching flames Kiril's shroud is dispersed, clearing the scene for Anton and the two elder combatants.

Basilio, fearful of the flames, summons smothering darkness from the shadows to put out the flames in the area. The darkness, not distinguishing between Basilio and Husayn, put out everything.

Basilio lies on the ground, the front half of his body a blackened mess, his clothes in ruins and seemingly as near to death as any vampire could be. The shade has undoubtedly been destroyed, as it is nowhere in sight. Husayn looks worse off, if that could be possible. Lying face-down near Basilio, his entire left hand has been obliterated by the blast. His left arm now ends halfway down his forearm at a burnt stump, a grievous wound that might not heal - even for one of the undead. This is not to speak of the other terrible burns all across his body, and the broken bones from the force of the blast.

Yet even so near death as he is, the assassin must complete his contract. Pushing himself up by the elbow on his injured side, Husayn looks briefly at his worthless arm, and then down to his right hand. Closing his eyes, Husayn vomits terribly acidic blood onto his own right arm, coating it as he would a weapon. His blood begins to eat through his arm - to Anton and Kiril's eyes, it is blood of the same intense acidity that burned through the daggers he'd thrown at the shade. His face takes on a terribly pale shade; that must have been among the last of the assassin's blood reserves.

Staggering upwards with continuously surprising speed, Husayn moves towards Basilio, the acid blood dripping down his arm. His intention is obvious - one last blow to end the Lasombra.

Anton, seeing his sire burnt but still alive, breaths a sigh of relief, before resummoning more tendrils to grab the battered Husayn.
"Kiril! Torpor the assasin!"

Kiril tries to block the assassins path to his master, using as many dark steel tendrils as he has/could quickly summon, along with his own body if possible.

Husayn shuffles towards Basilio - though he moves with nowhere near his usual speed, it is still enough to cause alarm to the barely conscious Lasombra. Basilio reaches out to Husayn with a ruined arm and five tendrils sprout from the darkness, striking at the assassin in unison. Husayn grabs and squeezes the first to reach him and the acid on his hand annihalates the tendril, dispersing it back into the abyss. Dodging and weaving, and making precise strikes with astonishing effectiveness, Husayn destroys each of the other four tendrils in a similar fashion - though he now seems even more drained than he did before. He's at Basilio's feet; the dark lord of Sofia is in little better condition than his would-be killer. Basilio's arm drops back down, almost is if he has resigned himself to his fate.

But Basilio's childer have not stood by idly for a moment while their master's life has been put into peril; from the church to Basilio's labyrinth, to this very room, they have fought fiercely for the life of their sire.

Tendrils sprout from the darkness, the product of Anton and Kiril's effort. They dart towards Husayn.

The assassin drops to his knees, no longer quite able to keep his feet. He raises his arm to finish off his friend. Tendrils crawl about his body and encase him almost utterly, anchoring him in place and holding him back - yet those that crawl around his arm to restrain his blow dissipate rapidly, destroyed by the acid with which he coated his own arm.

The remaining tendrils pull back powefully at Husayn's shoulder, the one part of his arm left unscathed by the acid. Husayn strains mightily against the tendrils, and for an instant, it seems as if they might give way even now. Husayn look towards his friend, and he finds sight of his target blocked.

Kiril stands before him.

Husayn stops struggling. His hand unclenches and he lets his head fall onto his own chest.

His voice comes out as a rasp, just barely audible - there must not be much blood left in his system to lubricate his vocal cords.

"Then I am finished. The contract is complete."

Anton quickly heads over to Kiril, his sire, and Husayn.
"Are you okay, sire?" Anton asks, looking over basillio.

Husayn does not move from his position. As Kiril watches, the acid finishes eating through the bones on his arm, the thing sloughts off and falls to the ground, where it practically disintegrates into a small pool of the assassin's blood. The Assamite does not react. He stays anchored in place by the swarm of tendrils, head resting against his own chest.

It is likely he entered torpor after saying the contract was finished.

Basilio's eyes stay closed as Anton asks him the question, and they stay closed when he answers.

"Yes... Yes, I will be fine given a few days rest."

The elder does not move, or make any attempt to do so, however.

Kiril plans to diablerize Husayn.
He could make up explanations..  Rage born of loyalty, the over-enthusiastic protection of his lord.  after all, it's established fact the assassin had a contract for his lord.

The truth is darker, more twisted.  The sin that sentences Husayn to death is not attempting to end Basilio's unlife-- it's having been Basilio's friend.

Didn't Kiril do everything his master commanded? Didn't he serve loyally, faithfully?  Wasn't he as educated and sophisticated as any Byzantine lord?  Why, then, should the assamite assassin have been the one chosen as Basilio's friend and confidant?

Of course, he'll have to kill basilio as well. It's clear the elder Lasombra would be highly displeased with his child's actions.  Who knows what vengeance he might take upon Kiril for killing his friend?

And doesn't basilio deserve some of Kiril's hatred, as well?  For spurning his childe's loyal service, for refusing to grant Kiril the friendship he so casually, carelessly offered the assassin?

But Kiril won't simply destroy them.  That wouldn't be right, wouldn't be fair.  He did love basilio- loves him still, in spite of everything.    by diablerizing them, basilio and Husayn can live on through Kiril- their memories, their power, the imposter's skill.

Just like Kiril lives through the man who bears his name.

He'll begin with the assassin.

Anton looks at his master, and gently lifts his charred body up from the ground.
"Now all that is left is..." Anton says, turning around to Kiril. He then blinks, furrows his brow, and internally sighs.

"I will take our lord back to his chambers." He states simply. The assasin was prepared for death. It is unfortunate that Kiril wishes to end him, but it is not Anton's duty.

Anton goes to lift Basilio - but the Lasombra shoos him off.

"I can walk myself Anton, I just... I'm fine."

Tendrils sprout from Basilio's clothing and wrap themselves around the dark one's limbs. They replace his ruined muscles, and the dark lord walks uneasily through them. Shuffling painfully to the exit, Basilio looks back at the three.

"Kiril, bring Husayn to Jorgi, he will keep him in stasis. When he wakes, we can deal with him. Come to me after, I need to speak with you."

A pang of something - perhaps jealousy? Or is it guilt at what he is about to do? Runs through Kiril. He ignores it, he will need all his will and focus and strength for what is to come.

Basilio leaves, Anton trotting after him; the ashen knight standing guard.

---

Kiril eyes Husayn.

The tendrils restricting the assassin are still in place, though they are not necessary - even unrestrained the assassin would be helpless, so great was the damage he'd sustained. Magnificent, truly, was his skill - and his devotion as well. He could have killed Basilio - easily in fact - had Kiril and Anton not been warned. Three times in that fight their presence had changed the tide of battle, three times Husayn suffered a terrible loss.

Now it is time he suffers a fourth.

Kiril kneels before the assassin, lays a hand against the blackened skin of his already dark face, and pushes slightly, revealing the assassin's neck. There is a dull pain as his fangs spring out.

---

About halfway through the labyrinth, Basilio stops and sits against the wall - if it were a mortal Anton would think he was having a dizzy spell.

Before he can ask what's wrong, or if the lord needs help, or before Anton can look away to save his sire his pride, Basilio speaks.

"I can't forgive him for this."

---

Kiril sinks his fangs into the assassin's neck.

Immediately he is conscious of but one feeling - pure and almost uncontrollable ecstasy.

It overwhelms him almost completely - Husayn's blood was rich and powerful, within it hummed energy unlike anything he could imagine - but there is so very little of it. In less than a second he takes the minuscule remaining amount of lifeforce suffused within Husayn's blood, sucking the assassin dry.

Then he strains himself, pulling harder, rupturing the ancient's veins so as to drain him of that which meant the most - the seat of his vampiric power, the cage of his beast, the lair of his soul. Kiril starts drinking the Heart's Blood.

---

"He tried to kill me."

Basilio does not yell, or scream, or show anger - but as he speaks he reveals a pain that stuns Anton. He has never seen his sire so weak.

"I'm surrounded by enemies, by spies, by assassins - and now, the one Cainite I thought I could trust..."

---

Through his fangs Kiril gasps - in pleasure, surprise, pain or astonishment, or some combination of the four, he does not know.

Memories that are not his flood through him.

The second son of a wealthy merchant, Kiril grew up in and around the marketplaces. Though he was never one of the ragged children who swarmed to such places, Kiril learned many skills from them — stealth, how to lighten a rich man's purse, and, most importantly, how to talk his way out of trouble. A hidden observer watched Kiril's maneuverings during one night time foray, noting his quickness and grace as well as his gift for words.

---

"You're all that I have left, you and your brother. I have nothing else of consequence. Even this damned city, that I once thought to be my legacy, my dream, to be accomplished with Husayn."

---

The Heart's Blood courses through him. Kiril feels Husayn's soul waking, he feels the assassin realize what's happening - and it reacts, striking back at him.

As Kiril started home that night, the Assamite who had watched him kidnapped him and claimed him as his apprentice. Kiril rebelled against his enforced training at first, but as he realized the skills he was perfecting, he began to revel in his abilities. After a seven-year apprenticeship, Kiril was inducted into the Assamite clan as a full member. Where he had once been a brash boy, he now adopted order and structure as the keys to personal power and stability.

---

"It has all been for nothing."

The elder Lasombra gives a long sigh, and for a while, there is silence.

---

Kiril begins to struggle. He feels pleasure now, but he no longer wants the pleasure - the pleasure is distracting him, weakening him.

He's losing the fight.

Husayn strikes at him again, and for a second, Kiril sees his soul through Husayn's eyes. He sees it and feels small, for he is little more than a sputtering green flame nearly engulfed by some necrotic, malicious thing that dwelled within his own hearts blood.

The Beast

Kiril's gift for diplomacy led to his current assignment. He has presented himself to Prince Basilio of Sofia as an ambassador from the Turks, claiming to share a common enemy — the Transylvanian and Bulgarian Tzimisce — with the Lasombra leader of Sofia. In actuality, Kiril has come from Constantinople at the request of an old enemy of Basilio's, a Tzimisce named Gabor. This Gabor feels he deserves to be Prince of Sofia and overlord of all Bulgaria. Kiril is charged with the assassination of Prince Basilio.

---

"I'm leaving Sofia."

Basilio's statement comes as a surprise - Sofia was important to the elder. What would happen to it now?

---

Kiril sees that sputtering flame grow weaker and weaker. Even his beast weakens sadly under the strain of Husayn's soul. Kiril feels the weight and power of centuries pressing down on him.

Even Gabor does not know the full story, however. While it is true that Kiril is ostensibly working for Gabor, Kiril is actually carrying out the orders of the Saracens, who requested that he accept Gabor's assignment. His masters wish for him to spy on Sofia and assassinate the prince of the city when it is most convenient for their plans of conquest. Whether they actually want Bulgaria or not, destabilizing the rebellious country at the proper moment could seriously weaken Constantinople and draw off a number of her armies, Besides, if Bulgaria suffers as a result of the assassination, the native Cainites will blame one of their own — Gabor — for causing the trouble.

---

"I'm going back to my homeland. To my sire. I need time to think... perhaps I shall take to the seas again."

Basilio goes quiet again, in contemplation. By now Anton realizes his master will speak again soon, he just needs to clear his mind.

Was this how he would speak to Husayn?

---

No thoughts this time. He is too weak to think coherently.

The Assamite has resided in Sofia for nearly two years, and Gabor is beginning to wonder why Kiril has not made his move. Kiril claims that he is merely taking his time, waiting for the moment of greatest effect in the larger scheme of things. He is actually waiting for orders from Alamut. Further,
he has grown fond of the prince, seeing in the Lasombra a desire for civilization and order that Kiril finds intriguing when compared to the arcane and convoluted maneuverings of the Cainites he has known.

---

"Before I leave, I must ask one thing of you, Anton. It will take a few months for Husayn to recover from his attack on me. I will call in a favour Sandor owes me and he shall craft Husayn new arms. You will then accompany him to Constantinople."

---

Kiril's arm twitches, and moves. What little remains of Kiril's consciousness is overwhelmed by fear.

It was not he who willed his arm to move.

Kiril hopes to delay fulfilling his contract as long as possible, but he realizes that sooner or later he is honor bound to obey its terms. He knows, unfortunately, that the Lasombra is no match for him. Though he cannot hope to avenge his friend's death, Kiril has sworn to himself that Basilio's final night on Earth would soon be followed by Gabor's end as well.

---

"You and Husayn will kill Gabor for putting this price on my head. Don't look so surprised, Husayn told me everything before he attacked. Then you will let Husayn go free of his debt to me with my blessing."

---

Not long after, Kiril went on a trip with Basilio, where he saw Basilio's two childer - Anton and Husayn. They had just built a castle with the help of some other kindred from notable elders. They were strong - stronger than when he had last seen them. An idea began to take form.

The day the order came, Kiril took a letter he'd carefully written months ago, and sent it away by messenger.

---

"Before I leave I will summon master Boukephos to the city. He will impart his blessing onto Kiril here, and he will be made lord of Sofia. None would dare defy a monster such as him."

---

He stalked the two brothers within the church, speaking to them, slowly warning them. They were so clueless, so young. They knew nothing.

But with their help, Basilio could defeat him. Kiril made every preparation against Basilio. Never did he factor in the aid of his childer. Nor was he going to now.

He stabbed carefully, precisely. Knicked Anton's heart and left Husayn on the ground, paralyzed - then he rushed off to Jorgi's spa. He'd incapacitated the ghoul earlier that day, now he just took his disguise and waited.

---

"You will like him, I think. He is a wise man, and will have much to teach you. He loves to meet his grandchilder and great grandchilder, one day you will likely do the same for whoever you choose to make your own."

---

He made his way quickly down the slickened stairs, keeping his balance and position with barely any effort. Through a secret passage the brothers never found around the wall of stone, he came across Desiderio. The mystic had but a moment of surprise before Kiril struck, faster than a blink. He drove the stake through the mystic's heart, then forcefully shoved iron rods through each limb against the right wall.

Taking off then, Kiril takes a secret passage around the right wall smack in the crossways.

---

"Once he proclaims Kiril lord of Sofia, he will accompany you to Krondstadt, where he will proclaim you lord there as well. I understand you've been having trouble with the Teutonic Order. You will have no more after this. Lord Jürgen is a fly to Boukephos."

---

Moving carefully to avoid the traps, over the pit, soon he came to the Leviathan. The creature struck unexpectedly fast, its shadows burning Kiril's shoulder.

Kiril moved fast, spraying acidic blood onto the shadows. They dissipated with a whine-like scream. He saw the statue from which darkness crawls and stuck rapidly, shadows moved in front of him but were cut away by a bloody blade . Kiril broke his fist on the unnaturally powerful stone.

The tendrils seized him and begin to crush. Mild fear, for a second. He might not make it through - but no, Kiril is an assassin of centuries, skilled and experienced. He has faced more dangerous foes than this.

Blood poured out of Kiril in a horrid Blood Sweat that encased his entire body. He expelled the blood violently and it coated everything in his vicinity, burning and eating away at the stone and darkness alike.

The statue, weakened by the acid, broke open on Kiril's next strike. The abyssal essence ate away briefly at Kiril's hand, but then faded, banished back from whence it came.

---

"For too long you and Kiril have been my childer, Anton. It is time you become my sons."

---

Kiril takes a second to heal himself of what wounds he could. The burns on his shoulder would not heal, but the rest of him did beautifully. He moves smoothly, not rushing, up to Basilio's room, where the Lasombra waits for him. The two begin talking, and talk for a while, before Anton and Husayn enter the room.

---

"More than that, it is time you become lords. You are lord of Krondstadt, Anton, but no longer are you under my thumb. I release you from my service. You may ask any one boon of me, for what you have done today."

---

Kiril lies immobilized, held helpless by tendrils now. He feels a brief pain, followed by an intense pleasure at his neck. His soul wakes, and he soon sees it - Husayn? But Kiril has already lost, he is no longer an enemy but the most faithful friend, why?

Kiril starts back to wakefulness. His soul resurges in strength. He is conscious again. He feels the Heart's Blood on his tongue.

---

"No longer are you Basilio's Ashen knight, Anton. You are the Dark Lord of Krondstadt. Wear your power well."

---

Kiril feels great sorrow, and he understands. As he saw through Husayn's life, Husayn saw through his. He knew why.

Husayn does not fight back this time.

Kiril feels sick of the pleasure.

---

Anton leads Basilio back to his chambers, where the Lasombra goes to rest and recover from his wounds. Basilio insists Anton leaves to rest himself, while Basilio's ghouls stand guard.

Deep within a labyrinth, in the heart of the city of Sofia, within the chambers of the city's prince, a great sacrifice and a great evil have just taken place.

Kiril rises from Husayn's ashes, the assassin's body having crumbled sometime in the past few minutes - he is not quite sure when. He feels... he is not sure what he feels. He remembers a lot of things he doesn't know, and feels he has forgotten many that he should. Carinus should be able to help him realize what happened.

Slowly, Kiril remembers why he is here, and what he has just done. He can feel the black stain on his soul. He can feel that he is no longer alone - perhaps he will never be.

Kiril leaves the room.

Basilio would spend days grieving over his friend, who died in that room from his final suicidal attack. But he would recover eventually.

Kiril was there for him.

So ends the tale of the master assassin, Husayn Al Fatin.
