Title: Posting rate may drop drastically this week

So yeh, barring 5 hours this morning I have been in the hospital over 36 hours and still here for a few more.

I am very very tired and more seriously messed up shifts coming up so predicting much less posting time this week.

Change of plans, after yesterday's really stupid shift I decided I needed a day off. Called boss to talk about my shifts. Paraphrased conversation below

Boss "Sorry but we really need those shifts covered, you'll have to keep them"

Me "That's too bad as I need a break but ok, I could use all the overtime pay though!"

Boss "Overtime?"

Me "Yeh, I'm booked for 12 days straight working evenings and nights mixed with mornings, anything over 7 days in a row is automatically full overtime so that'll be five days overtime pay right?

Boss "..."

Me "So I'm the 14:30 start through the evening and night right?"

Boss "Actually, you know do have been working a lot, why don't I cover today for you so you can get a break and I'll see you tomorrow instead."

:)

Point out they will need to pay you 5 days full overtime and suddenly you get a day off, amazing!

Works until you find a boss desperate enough for workers that they'll toss on a little tip just to get you in the door, even though you're already half-dead from doubles. Glad you got a break, though.
