- Technique Beats Brawn: Your character's grappling moves are about masterful technique over brute force; using fake-outs, reversals, and smooth execution to counter an opponent's strength advantage. When grappling, an Opponent's Strength is effectively reduced by 1 for the purpose of resisting your maneuvers.
- Judo Throw: Your character can throw an opponent to the ground or take him down hard! When successfully rendering an opponent prone, the opponent takes bashing damage from the roll, and your character has the choice of going to the ground with him, or to remain standing.
- No Hesitation: Your character’s training and experience allow him to instantly transition from establishing a hold to a maneuver in the same action, before his opponent can even react. Anytime your character successfully establishes (or re-establishes) a grapple hold, he may immediately follow up with a maneuver roll at a -1 penalty (before his opponent can try to break free or reverse the grapple).
- Choke 'em Out: Your character knows a variety of chokes and sleeper holds that he can slip in there as the opportunity arises. Any maneuver roll to render opponent prone, damage opponent, immobilize opponent, use opponent as protection from ranged attacks, or judo throw opponent, that equals or exceeds the target’s Size in successes might knock him unconscious (in addition to the normal effect). A Stamina roll is made for the victim. If it succeeds, he is conscious but he still loses his next action due to defending the choke. If it fails, he is unconscious for a number of turns equal to the successes/damage done.
Drawback: This maneuver is generally performed on a prone (or going prone) opponent. If the opponent is standing when this maneuver is applied, he gets to make a Reflexive Strength (don’t forget Technique Beats Brawn) + Brawl (-minus attacker’s Strength) roll to pop free before the Knockout effect can be applied.
- Tap It or Snap It: Your character knows how to snap limbs, annihilate joints, and crank various parts of the body past the breaking point. Any maneuver roll to render opponent prone, damage opponent, immobilize opponent, use opponent as protection from ranged attacks, or judo throw opponent, that equals or exceeds the target’s Size in successes gives the attacker opportunity to truly wreck their opponent.
In this case, the attacker may choose to spend one Willpower point (does not add three dice to the attack) in order to cause Lethal damage, instead of Bashing damage, and imbue the Lame Flaw or One Arm Flaw on his opponent. The Flaw remains with the opponent until all of the damage cause by this attack is healed. If the opponent already has the Lame Flaw, then he is Crippled instead; while consecutive One Arm Flaws will quickly run the victim out of usable arms.
