I'm running a Collaborative Forum CYOA over on CYS in the Creative Corner board.
That was the one we played here on BHB where the entire place burned down haha!
Thought it would be interesting to see how far they can get with it over there. ;D

Except for Nippon where I died in the first side quest

I'm still traumatized by that. Everything is going fine then suddenly "By the way, everything is like, 5 seconds from exploding."
"But we checked the computers!"

Where possible, I'm going to use your characters' replies for the NPC narratives in the CYS version. :)

The cast iron vent is no match for the determined lunatic!
Bracing both feet against the wall, Rupert gives a great heave and rips the vent out of the wall with such force that he hurtles back into the book case - toppling it over!
The heavy wooden thing crashes to the ground - shaking the entire floor!
If they hadn't heard the loud shuddering of the vent being ripped free, they certainly heard the book case falling over.
Sure enough, the Guards in the guard post spring awake and yell aloud "WHAT THE FARK IS GOING ON IN THERE?!?"
The door from the nurse's station is also starting to open.
Rupert is just a kick or two from knocking the vent on the other side of the wall out so he can get through.

Hey I think it is easier for them over there because instead of having mostly Batshit crazy people making all the decisions. They have a group of semi sane individuals making choices on ONE character. I am certain that if they were playing like you guys did several things would have gone wrong already.
Also all I am hearing here is that any campaign I missed apparently had way more things go wrong then any I was here for.... Well excluding throwing a tomahawk missile into a bird lady, but it seemed like a really good idea at the time. Or ruining a successful sneak attack escape mission by destroying half a building.... Never mind shit Farked up in games I was in to. (Props to all my EF7 Peeps one of the best RPGs I have ever played. I still tell those stories to my friends.)

Some good points on why the game over on CYS has not imploded yet haha! That and the fact that I have to write out all the choices in the CYOA version and write-ins are apparently rare.
We do have an awesome history of amazing RPGs though - even the ones that ended in flames! ;D

Hey, my psychic healer character was super nice!
(But Drak, she decapitated a corpse and used its head to send a message)
Listen when you go through that much trauma it changes you, that might be viscerally displeasing but there was nothing actually wrong with that and i'm sticking to my guns!

Pretty sure Iteration X was still evil. Just more of an uncaring evil than active evil.

I disagree, IX was firmly against the totalitarian regime and became a high level mission coordinator for the resistance from what I remember. Now I wouldn't say IX was a kind or caring individual but it defiantly seemed to have some form of moral compass. I also can't say I remember any evil moments from IX.

They were all about following the brother of Nyarlthotep down a hole, but then chickened out at the last moment. Oh well. At least the place burned to the ground again. ;D

I personally thought we were screwed as soon as we failed the ambush up to that point we had done a good job at sneaking our way through.
