Damn! Been a busy Summer so far. Everyone else keeping busy?
Hardly had time to do more than jot down some notes for the next adventure. Not really sure when it will start up though.

Very busy with work and family. Been working rediculous amounts, mostly nightshifts. Take all the time you need :)

When we get back to it, what about two side quests?
1. Robor, Beats, and UsdiYona "Proactively" taking out the two remaining vampires, when they trip Emend's alarm by returning to their Haven.
2. The Saint and Emend, meeting Robert Swane about the potential buyer of The Heart of Flies.

Whoofa! Just checking in, to let everyone know I'm still alive haha!
The plan is to start things back up in September.
In the meantime, I started a massive new project, that will eventually lead into a new Fantasy BHB game system, following a Fantasy Novel for publishing.
Writing a Novel is one of the last major milestones on my bucket list and I'm determined to do it this time around!
At some point, I'll also start posting the World Building for the setting here on BHB in private threads (don't worry, you'll all have access). I'm open for input in that regard, and would certainly credit anyone who contributes (including monetary compensation) in the event it gets published.
Perhaps my weakest area in storytelling is dialog, so I'll be seeking a ghostwriter for help with dialog between characters.
In the RGP system aspect, I'll also need artists.
The rate I can foresee paying contributors would be 2 cents per word for setting material, 3 cents per word for dialog, and 10-20$ per art piece.
Anyway, that's probably my second biggest distraction right now haha!
We'll see how it goes... ;D

Be interesting if this time-loop doesn't result in Emend's memory being wiped (since Drak's taking an action that will likely change things drastically I'm not bothering with an Emend post). Killer just outed himself pretty hard, so if memory stays that's gonna be a huge changing point.

Just need to figure how far back to go to offer a realistic alternative. Maybe as Mr. Swane sends his last text? Killer could jump up from the table and dash through the kitchen out the back as his mother walked in...

Beats uses Beats level intellect to try and solve fat monster issues:
1. When cooking back fat burns
2. There was that document an
but spontaneous combinations and all the fat in a person's body burning up
3. Fat monsters are therefore probably just walking torches
Final plan... get fire super hot and see if they spontaneously combust. I like this plan.

Any clearity on what Emend, Killer and Usdi intend to do with the rest of the scene?

A solid 25% of Saint’s offensive power is in prebuffs, another 35% is in summons, and all the rest is in mind control, and he doesn’t have time to do the first two right now, if the whole party isn’t here I don’t see us killing/capturing four full fledged witches/demons without Killer being given free reign to sacrificd as many innocent people as possible which the others probably won’t let him do. Miguel being there might be a solid trump card though, even if we’ve forgotten about him...
Though even if we go for the witches I feel like they can call on backup pretty easily. We should probably honestly just leave, or do what Killer suggests and try to slip a tracking spell into their food if they order anything.

As far as Emend's text - Robor and Beats won't get it till they exit the underground station - as there is no cell signal down there, it having been shut down and sealed off well before the advent of wireless tech.

He said we would get them till they leave, which makes sense. Chronologically Robot/Beats would have to finish with their mission first before joining us anyway. And until the demons make a move there's no reason for Emend to do anything other than watch. Him and Killer don't have a lot of info aside from "something bad happened before".

Alright, so I'm guessing without spirit Beats can't make a portal into the spirit realm.
However he does have a Gossamer Touch Imbued Cestus, which allows him to touch things in the spirit realm. So can use the scry Emend made as reference, to create a portal under Robor (in the earth realm), and pull him through it using his Gossamer Touch item?

So, to answer the question more fully, Yes.
A portal opens with a reflection of itself in twilight. So while a ghost in twilight cannot use the portal to move from twilight to the physical realm, it can follow the disciples through to the twilight version of the new location on the other side of the portal.
If the disciples open a portal to the underground haven (lock it so the ghouls can't go through), Miguel can pass through and interact with Robor and the strange spirit approaching him.
Anyway, I guess we are waiting on Emend to respond to the situation, before I can update again.

Would just like to point out that if we were all evil we could use portals to unleash the vozhd into that restaurant and lizard brain/puppetry to have them focus down the witches, all mostly paradox free, while forcing the other vampires to do damage control and hush the media

Following that, there will be about a week long space between the next Scene. So some ideas of what to do during it would be in order.
Also, I not the game slows way down when I don't steer the adventures with a more clear "Railroad" style approach haha!

As for healing, Beats is able to heal himself now so Killer just kind of assumed he would do that if he felt like he needed it. If he knew Beats was radioactive though he'd be helping out but Beats hasn't mentioned anything about how he got dunked in radiation
He will heal Robor though, just waiting for the old woman to LEAVE ALREADY GODDAMMIT YOU NOSY WITCH
Then when everyone's healed up we would actually be able to give taking on the witches/planting a tracking device a shot.

I know what I want to write, but can't get it from brain to paper so to speak.
I'm probably going to take a break for the holidays and see where we are at then.
This adventure was the last arc I had for the Disciples' game. I don't want it to die on the vine, but have to step away a bit in hopes I can rekindle the spark.

What's the plan after arriving at the castle?

Inside Beats Mind:
- Get home and safe, heal up and maybe ditch some paradox (can he do that?)
- Scry tunnel and what's going on with flesh abominations
- Get full story on these whichy types and if they are anything like Sabrina the teenage which (original not remake) or Charmed (Original not remake)
- Suggest really long time delayed method of destroying the heart like suspend it above lava in a volcano on a device that will wait a week before tipping it in (Get told nope won't work)
- Suggest secretly going to construction sites to steal plastic explosives and buy several big bags of fertilizer. Buy several big bags of large steel ball bearings. Make a couple of really big bombs with det caps in place and exposed wires leading to them but no actual electronic or moving parts at all to be detected by forces.
-Wrap in trash bags and conceal amidst garbage piles on the sides of a dead end road in an abandoned construction type area in the city outskirts, arrange meeting with Witches regarding the heart and ask B&B to be there too. Have Emend or Killer sit on a large heavy concrete devider at the end of the road waiting. Once witches and demons arrive and get out, Beats sends electricity through a scrying window to trigger giant bombs as Emend/Killer drops behind large concrete barrier. Thus kill all enemies in 1 go with massive force, piercing and fire damage. (Get told no cos of many practical and moral reasons)

We need to steal Robert Swane's cell phone, use Emend's abilities to trace a phone call (which would lead to Saints mom, I think) and then attack with fire.

Killer would like to abduct and interrogate Swane but moral reasons so instead it looks like stealing the phone and tracking Gile’s mom through that is the way to go.
Forge’s plan is also great
To be entirely honest killer’s preferred plan would be to storm Blume and Blumenthal with a pair of fantastical monsters and a killer hornet swarm and slaughter the demons by turning them and their slaves against each other. This would cut off the mom’s support base and then we could go after her, but the dream is not yet fully possible

It's definitely possible, possession has always been a very prominent power in the WoD series, i'm pretty sure all the races and factions have access to it in some form or another.
I've done it a couple of times with you guys in vampire even.

If not, or they don't pan out, my next major update will throw out the next big plot hook, but won't occur for another day or so (in-game).

I'm thinking try to trace the limo's plates to whatever company it was rented from (assuming a rental), see who rented it and then find the employee driving the limo and get what we can out of him.

Hmm... It seems I have freeze-dried a part of my thumb, when a faulty propane valve sprayed liquid propane across it. Right now, it's like a one and a halfinch length of leather on my thumb, rather than skin. I imagine it will blister up at some point like a burn. :(

Keep a close eye on it for colour and texture changes as it could develop into a form of frostbite that kills that section of skin if it was cold enough to form ice crystals in the smaller capillaries

I feel like you should go to a walk-in clinic to make sure you're not about to lose part of your thumb...

Well, as it was late and I didn't want the ER visit/bill, I waited till morning to see what it was going to do.
Got a large blister over a red area. Looks pretty much like a second degree burn, so I think I'm good.
I'll watch for infection or if it turns black, then I'll hit up the professionals ;)

Had a lump in my chest that I was 95% sure was just a small cyst but wanted to get it checked because i’m not a doctor and couldn’t actually be sure. It was a small cyst.
At least I had something to read though. Though there’s also always the risk that I caught something from waiting in a room for 4 hours with a large amount of diseased people.

I once went into a walk in where it was just me and an older couple. After about 20 minutes they asked the receptionist where the physician was, and were told she had just stepped out for a moment.
At the 1 hour moment mark i told the receptionist i was just gonna leave. She tried to ask me to stay, but when i asked if she actually knew if the physician was coming back.. she admitted she had no idea.
So the quality of certain locations varies greatly lol.

This might be because you are yourself a medical professional?
It might have also been less crowded where you are. I went to a clinic at 6:48 AM, 3 minutes after it had opened, and when I was there there were already over twenty people in there. I was the 24th person to be seen, so I guess the actual wait time was just 10 minutes per person, though I still feel that's a bit excessive all things considered.

Our clinics are just not that busy... Though I do know what sort of times are less busy usually. Weekdays mid morning are normly good but I rarely see more than 3 or 4 people waiting at the one I go to

Also depends where you live I bet. Like, when I lived in CT wait times were super long, and in NJ they're a lot shorter.

Well, that didn't work.
I have to admit, I'm now leaning more towards shelving this game, due to some extra work I picked up and having bad writers block.
The only free time I really have is weekends and all I do with them now is sleep to recover from the longer work week.
At times, this game has just rolled off my imagination, but right now I'm just stuck.

Ugh. Still doing the long day stuff (though I have managed to whittle it down to 12 hours a day). They hired a guy so I could move positions, but he quit after only three days. If this draws out much longer I may have to begin looking for employment elsewhere.

That's rough. If I've learned anything since joining the working world, it's that being competent always ends up Farking you. I've been at my current job for three months and I've really impressed people here... so they keep giving me a shit ton of extra work to do :'(
Highly recommend looking for another place. A crappy job will just eat away at your soul until you don't even remember what a good job is like, and thus begin to think your situation isn't all that bad and get used to it.

Reference to Chronicles of the Black Company, which Aman and I both read and absolutely loved, and which Forge probably read about in our discussion thread on it back when we were discussing books we were reading (dunno if he read it himself or not).
Highly recommended, great read. The first couple chapters are weak (it was his first book) but it picks up pretty fast.
