How did I miss everything for like 3 months...

but yes Roll20 is good, easy to use and simple to approach and start using.

I currently use Fantasy Grounds Unity. It is a tiny bit less simply to immediatly start using from a DM perspective  but pretty similar from the player side.

both cover ALOT of different systems and you can easily plug and play existing modules.

One dnd might be good in a year or two, but not before then even if you wanted 5e lol

I finished my dnd5e multi-year long campaign a bit before christmas... Then my group was so excited about the teasers I had given about the next one I ended up starting running it after 2 months off rather than 6...

Poor Kitty.

Sorry to hear about the scams but grats in the house BZ!

I was wierd moving up here and seeing the same, Mountains, rivers and forests everywhere with clean air. It's nice :)

18
Congrats on the grandson! (If I didnt need to be a certain  distance from a hospital I would love to be more rural on my own land. We might love somewhere near the ocean in a year or two. Ocean in front and mountains right behind would be nice)

19
yup, just got my second dose so I am fully vaccinated. Most healthcare workers and elderly should have theirs or will get it soon. They are receiving a couple million more this/next week so more rolling out as we speak hopefully.

20
Things calmed a lot after they got all the pandemic protocols in place and made proper isolation wards. Still doing a lot of CTs and portables compared to the old normal but we settled into it well so deff much more relaxed

21
Terrifying that it’s been a year.

Haven’t had any crazy stories. Graduated college with no graduation so that was cool 😎

Congrats!

So, as a year of lockdowns has come and gone, we look back and reminisce on what we gained, lost and learned in that time! Or at least vaguely allude to the interesting bits.

Leaving each countries successes and failures aside, what were your personal gains or new things that only happened due to the pandemic?

I was more heavily locked down as I directly treat covid patients constantly at work so I barely left the house apart from special occasions. Obviously sports and most outdoor things were fully closed here so my gains were mostly indoors. I reached the three year anniversay of my main online game I DM for and we are slowly building to the climax. Pandemic meant we play at least once a week for about 4 hours since we have little else to do. I also play in a different weekly online game that used to be my in person game my wife DMs (2 hour sessions) and play in a pbp on discord. I have also run and am planning more 1 shots for work friends. Other than games I have done a ridiculous amount of DIY, full Reno's of a bathroom, bedroom and most of the garage (plumbing can be tricky) and minor ones of other rooms. I have taken up brewing and am making my own cider at home. I have learned to ski! (I already snowboard but learned skiing this winter as it is easier for the kids to learn. Also I can go to an empty hill and learn solo, yay social distancing sport).

What about the rest of you?

That could make it interesting, have an ace in the hole, but only if things have begun going badly so it can't be spammed.

The Solar Frontier / Re: Broader Skill List?

It is strange how one goes back and forth on these sort of things. Looking back at this, I'm now more inclined to just have the classic list of skills, than the compact list.

Go figure.

Look again in 2 years so you can decide it needs a total overhaul again lol

Official Rules Questions / Re: How do I arm (put weapons on) Ships!?
« on: August 27, 2020, 12:27:52 pm »
I seem to remember that there are choices of possible hidden weapons that can be added when my char had a ship. I will look through and see if I can find the info.

Edit: I found the costs of ship weapons under the 'Money and equipment' section. Sadly would need BZ to weigh in for better detailed info. I know you get the ship through taking the appropriate edge then can add certain things during creation but it's been too long for me to remember the details off-hand.

CT low dose chest is luckily not that high of a radiation dose on our scanner so the associated risks are very low and it gives 'Some' more information about the type and position of the pneumonia and how far it has infiltrated. They then use it to give more of an idea if it is actually Covid (along with other symptom info).

If it is worth it... Honestly I am not sure, whilst it does increase what we know and help decision making instead of waiting a week for the test results it is is non-specific. I would prefere doing the Chest X-Ray (which is highly useful) then isolate any possible positives regardless... we just lack beds...

« on: March 30, 2020, 06:42:02 pm »
So I wasn't going to post this, but know 'roughly' where many of you live I thought I should.

Please all keep safe, stay away from other people and wash hands regularly. I don't want to hear of you getting this virus due to the large numbers of idiots in all our countries who have been ignoring the medical advice and social distancing. Even in younger people, outlier cases can turn deadly. My brother-in-law who is only in his early 40s ended up in hospital last week due to it causeing sudden fever seizures.

You mostly all know I am front line medical staff so I am doing 12 or 16 hour shifts through the nights right now. Every patient with ANY respiratory distress or other symptoms, I get to scan which involves direct touching and positioning.
If they look like they have pneumonia, I then CT them. This is on top of all other scans and work I do in the ER. We are currently in gloves, masks and full face shield at all times except for when eating in out staff room which now has a people limit so no eating together. We then full gown and hat and higher level of mask for any suspected cases but are being told to re-use masks due to possible shortage if this keeps going.

Anyway, good luck and stay safe all.

I do run an online DnD5e game through fantasy grounds and google hangouts, would love to have you guys join in for some games . My party is currently just about to fight a beholder for the first time having entered it's lair so.... will see how that goes since they already got themselves into a bad spot before it even fully revealed itself lol

I always keep an eye on here so will keep doing so, also looks like I might take a DM break during the summer so might spam ppl on here and try and run a short light game on here while my life isn't so busy.

Grats on the grandkids! My lil lady is about to turn 1 so I'm luckily a few years off that still :)

I do occasionally pop onto CYS as a lurker, not much in the lounge I feel like commenting on but I 'started' a new game in there (wrote the intro) and am hoping to do more writing there soon. Just so busy atm it still takes a back seat.

Wooo grats on grandbabies!

Sad about the adventure wrapping up but life has to come first and get balanced out, no point trying to finish it if it will just cause burnt-out.

I will keep an eye out on here and e-mail is active, I do need to check on CYS more often  though and eventually work on finishing my stories there lol

Mintiya gives Jacob a second before saying "Right, everyone in the mini-sub and tie this guy up in his underwear! Time to make our getaway! Oh an I'll scan him for communication implants."

"Onward we go! Remember, speed and stealth then back to the Subs!" Montoya readies to spring out of the mini sub the moment Gil says it is clear.

I still wanna bombard everything...

New plan, highjack big sub, Gil stays submerged in lil sub and bombards house. We wait for him to board, then catch him and leave!

"Cameras on loop, doors unlocked front of us and locking as we leave... Gil, maybe best you wait in the sub after all so you can keep an eye on the real camera feeds." Montoya muses
"Who wants to steal the other sub and who wants to blow it up as we leave?"

I say we do original plan, stealth entry. Recover what we need. Stealth exit.... detonate or steal the other sub then missiles fire at house and other missile batteries :)

Tales of the Dandy Desperado! / Re: Fortune Cookie Fix

"Hmm take out surveillance first, then rig explosives on that other sub!" Montoya adds. "Jacob, keep an eye out for any enemies while I get us ready to dock. If we can't hack it from here I will try and let someone out in a blind spot" Montoya waits for confirmation that the camera has been hacked before surfacing.

"Onward!" Montoya announces, then remembering he was driving, he sits down and carefully pilots it in,  trying to keep it slow and stealthy and out of sight.

"Let's get in close and see if they have any detectors in the underwater passage! If we can slip in there, we can be in and out before they know what hit them!"

Montoya checks for what sensors the sub has and if it has a system log for being ping-d or returning a passcode when it approaches.
