I'll link to here. I'll also link this

As the proper roles link, as yours doesn't work lol.

That's weird, it worked fine for me earlier lol. Thank you though.

^List of roles available, along with alignment and sub category of alignment.

Ranked games feature a role list of:

Town:
1 Jailor (Unique Role)
Two town investigatives
Two town supports
One town protective
One town killing
One random town

Mafia:
One Godfather
One Mafioso
One random mafia

The mode also includes a random neutral killing, random neutral evil, and a random neutral benign, along with an any role, which could be town, neutral, or mafia.

I'd like to host this on BHB, if anyone is willing to give it a go feel free to post in thread or send me a message :)

Also, can't post on CYS because of my phone, so if anyone would be willing to copy and paste there and let them know on my behalf, I'd appreciate it.

Edit: this was supposed to be all one post, dunno why it split it in two lol.

Anyone tryna get a mafia game going? I've been itching for one for a while, and playing host seems to be the closest ill get for a minute lol.

I'm thinking 15 players ranked Town of Salem rules, but that's open for change if not enough people sign up obviously.  For those of you who are unaware of what Town of Salem is, it's just an online mafia game with hella roles so that every lynch isn't a stab in the dark.

Merry Christmas everyone!

And clear liquor is disgusting. Ciroq is the only stuff I'll touch, and that's only if it's all that's there. Tastes like shit, and I get into a fight every time I drink it.

Whiskey is where it's at. Bring me some Southern Comfort or Jim Bean and it's go time.

Linear final Friday, followed by a week of straight parties to unwind then Christmas ans New Years. When I wake up from my substance induced haze of merriment and begin rebuilding my ruined mind and body I shall rejoin Ye all for some sweet sweet roleplaying, my beloved third family!

Pass out on your side and drink one for me!

It used to be that the Great Wall was a wonder that gave the 'great Wall' defence benefit to all the cities you owned. Basically counting as a wall but it only counted for stuff already build and couldn't be lengthened of adapted so if you built a new city or captured one it would not get the benefit and you couldn't use it like a fort or to hold any other area.

Oh, I didn't know that. In Revolution the benefit of building it was that countries couldn't declare war on you, and if you were already at war upon building it or started a war with them after, they would always accept ending the war.

So basically you could go into their territory, take a few potshots at some cities and see what you get away with, and if they were ever in a position to take some cities back you could just sue for peace and end the conflict until you wanted to do it all over again.

Only shitty thing about it was that the Great Wall became useless once another civilization discovered engineering, which meant you better build it and use it quick.

As someone who has limited experience with a few Civ games, all I really know is that cultural victories are a thing, the Great Wall of China isn't as clunky to use anymore, and Teddy Roosevelt's back. I mean, the graphics are also pretty, and Harald Hardrada's voice is a joy to listen to as well. As far as Civ games go, it's more of the same, with bits and bobs added, removed, or "Optimized" in ways that might upset fans who prefer certain games or playstyles.

Also, as opposed to having one advisor for each subject, you only have one advisor for every subject, and she's a Greco-Roman lady with a vaguely Scottish accent.

I've only played Revolution, so I don't have much info on how the other games played, nor am I hip to how the Great Wall acted clunky. What used to be so wrong with it? It's always been a life saver when playing on deity mode.

I'm sure the checks and powers system of our government will reign him in fine.

His tax plan is a farce though. I'm down for cutting taxes on the rich, taking away 40% of someone's paycheck is no Bueno, no matter how much money you make, but when you're raising taxes on single moms who are struggling enough already that's messed up.

Third paragraph under the "Diagnosis" heading states that the guy,  Max Weber,  planned out three attacks on children but didn't carry them out due to fear.

How is that not a criminal tendency? It happens all the time with gunmen about to rob a bank.

We get that you're biased man, but that's not even the point of the therapy.

And some people do need to be told some laughably simple things. I was at goodwill and over heard a conversation between an employee and the people he was trying to help about how you probably shouldn't jump someone who is alone with 7 guys to beat the shit out of him just because he offended you. And that just becuase you're upset that your hockey team lost doesnt mean you need to start a fight.

These were guys in their 30s or so.

Exactly my point,  that dude is 30 years old,  and he doesn't have the point drilled in his head already? I don't see how talking to a counselor or going to a group session will alter his thought process on the matter, considering societal cues over the course of three decades couldn't get the point across that jumping someone over a hockey game is no Bueno.

The fact of that matter is,  if you put a bunch of people in the same room who all have one thing in common,  whether it be pedophilia, drug addiction,  criminality, or even just knitting, all its gonna do is teach those people how to Hone their craft. Yeah,  maybe a few will get the point if they're young enough or if their actions have decreased their quality of life, but by and large putting people with criminal tendencies into contact with other people with the same tendencies just leads to better criminals.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/oct/16/how-germany-treats-paedophiles-before-they-offend

Woooo,  let's put a bunch of pedophiles in the same room so they can link up after therapy to share pictures and tips on abducting children!  Seriously,  all jail ever taught me was how to be a better criminal, and all drug treatment ever did is help me make connections.

Therapy doesn't stop what you're attracted to,  man. That's why all those gay conversion treatments are bullshit. The only thing that'll stop someone from acting on those thoughts are their own morality or fear of societal punishment/stigma. If they need therapy to get the fact that touching kids is wrong, they're gonna slip at some point.

Fingers crossed the Germans are doing this just to keep tabs on the kid Farkers.

Ivy made a dark joke. He didn't tell anyone to slit their wrists.

Pretty close paraphrase of what Ivy said in its entirety: Remember, horizontal for attention, vertical for business.

In the context, a fair number of people didn't even understand what he was referencing, as he was just replying to some mundane post that consisted of flailing or whining or bitching something else along those lines.

Oh, yeah, that's not nearly as cringe worthy, lol. Pretty funny, actually.

It's funny. Because if he was this horrible big bad wolf, wouldn't he have just banned Kiel and all his sympathizers in a Stalin style gulag death sentence from the start?

Option 1) Listen to people complain at you with uncomprehending words.
Option 2) Ban them dissidents with righteous fury. (Then sign their e-mail accounts up for daily porn newsletters.)

Which option would an internet dictator take?

I mean seriously... come on now.

Wait, do they seriously have daily porn newsletters?

If 3J plays favorites why was I banned from CYS for the longest time? I've known the dude for years, he's a good guy, and above all else makes sure what he does is fair and right. Probably the most intelligent person on the forum as well.

Meanwhile Kiel was caught doing some shady shit and acting like a kid who got his toy token away. Just cause he's a nice guy doesn't mean he should be put in a position of authority on the site.

Probably the most important part here, is acknowledging how completely and utterly retarded the whole argument over there was. CYS is just a website, and being a mod there is just a title for that one website. Getting worked up about something as insignificant as that just doesn't seem like its good for anyone's health. If Kiel hadn't gone around trying to "draw up support" or whatever else has been implied by his behavior, and dragging 3J's name and character in the mud, it'd be whatever. Just enjoy the lulz and move on, that type of deal, ya dig?

But, of course, people decided to get their dicks hard for defending Kiel, and others got their dicks hard for attacking him return.

Whether you're on one side of the spectrum or the other, you're stupid. Dangerously so. With all the things going on in the world, I literally cannot see one single reason to give even the most miniscule of Farks about the moderators bickering in this matter.

But go ahead and continue bickering, Soundstorm, Taco, Dreamkiller. Enjoy wasting precious moments of your life being worked up over such an inconsequential matter.

I never liked Kiel

He's alright, but the way he acts is reminiscent of the dude who snitched on me, so fuggit.

Honestly, what this whole episode shows me more than anything is that racial prejudice is alive and well on CYS.

No Playa for mod? My services as a moderator were never even inquired about, and that's a clear example of systematic oppression.
