Nadia both has no Fortitude (she has Potence) and Fortitude doesn't heal aggravated damage (it lets you soak it).

He's just pissed at his sire, so killing Barabus would make him feel better. Even if Barabus wins though, Steeple still wins, because then Lucien wins Barabus for his own (according to the bet) - thus taking Barabus off Steeple's hands anyway.
