It is just past nine pm when Roka and Yuki arrive at Sendai's Temple of the Ancestors. Priests and Monks still wander around, even at this late hour, going about their tasks and tending to Sendai's wounded...

Yuki prepares all the other materials she thinks she'll need for the ritual.

In order to do so, Yuki asks a nearby priest to get her a smith's hammer. While waiting for it she'll wander around and cast heal on those who are injured (since she can do it for free after all).

Roka begins to head over to the exalted patriarch.

Roka finds the Exalted Patriarch retired to his room for the night; but he quickly rises and dons a robe to meet with Roka.

Moving into the Chapel, empty at this time of night but well illuminated by a thousand lit candles, Exalted Patriarch Onishi asks, "I trust you had no problem finding and dealing with the Korean assassin?"

"Yes, specifically about the Daimyo's visit tomorrow." Roka states. "And I must beg your forgiveness for my overstepping of my rank and duty, but I must ask. What do you plan to do, tomorrow?"

"We shall see if he is an impostor," the Exalted Patriarch replies.

"If he is, then we will have to form an alliance with another trustworthy Daimyo to sanction removing him."

"Either way though, for tomorrow, we simply welcome our Daimyo and honor him as we always have."

Roka breaths a sigh of relief.
"Thank the ancestors..." He mutters.

"Exalted one, I must ask you to inform Rai Tsukahara of your decision. The fool is planning to greet the daimyo with weapons, I fear, and he ignored my warning."

"What is he doing?!?" The exalted Patriarch gasps in shock. "Does he wish to make himself Ronin? Or seek a quick death?"

Then looking serious, he concludes, "I will try to warn him in the morning, not to act so rashly. The Ancestors provided us with guidelines on how to deal with this; and while he certainly plays a part, facing the Rokurokubi directly was not it."

Roka nods, and quickly sends thoughts to Rai.
"The Exalted Patriarch says not to do anything against the daimyo right now."

In a back room meanwhile, Yuki makes sure that she has everything that she needs (after the Priest had returned with the smith's hammer).

Satisfied, she casts Time Stop - needing the help of Alter Chance to do so successfully - unable to afford a failure, as it would leave her with too few Spell Energy to use Epic Magic.

Stepping out of time with the soulsteel well lid and her other supplies, Yuki then spends twelve hours aligning the magical energies to cast her first Epic spell - permanently burning a Luck Point to seal the magic.

Once ready, Yuki is impressed with how much energy she has woven together and lets the spell manifest - shocked at how painful it is to have such monumental power surge through her - Boiling the blood in her veins, dealing 5 Wound Points and Disabling her.

And that was a successful casting...

Reeling from the brutal spirit-raping she has just taken from powers mankind was not meant to control, Yuki spends a Surge Point to cast Heal.

She then looks around and sees that the Soulsteel lid is no more - replaced with many wonderful artifacts or arcane power.

Gathering them up, Yuki steps back into time, slumps down, and promptly falls asleep.

It has truly been a long day.

"Hopefully the 'hope of nippon' won't do anything stupid now." Roka states. "Thank you, Exalted Patriarch."

Roka then bows, and heads on home. He considers looking for Yuki, but, well, she's a big girl and would probably make sure to go to her home by herself, and it's been a really tiring couple of days.
