Future of the game
« on: August 23, 2016, 09:04:36 pm »

Alright, i'm not sure I can dedicate the time necessary to pay this game the attention it deserves. Obviously I never really have been able to (hence the literal weeks of breaks at times), and now that my third semester (the hardest one) of Cegep has started it's looking like i'll have less time than ever. I don't want to quit this game because frankly I love it, I love the characters and I think we've done some truly amazing things here, but i'm not entirely certain i'll have a choice at this rate.

I really don't know what to do here so i'm just asking you guys straight up: What do you think?

Quit school.

Or just take it easy on the game and pick it up when you get more time again. I for one have no issue waiting, I'm still waiting to see what happens to the grenade that has been suspended in time half way to the elevator in Aman's suits game afterall.

Absolutely loving what we've done with this. I would kill to have a chance to sit at a table with you all for a face-to-face campaign like this.

I'm fine waiting a few months or even a whole year for this, if it means we get to continue some day. Besides, Steeple hasn't had the chance to use his badass bone-sword yet haha!

I'm in for a tabletop meetup weekend.

I'd guess we all meet up either at someone's place or.... Seattle? As a random easy-ish location?

XD Forge don't you live in Vancouver? I live on the other side of Canada. Even if we meet halfway that's a 10 hour drive minimum.

And on top of that Aman's parents hate his internet friends apparently :'(

Alright, as long as there's still support for the game from you three and D (the core players), i'll keep running it then.

I was thinking of flying instead of driving lol. Thinking next summer and Aman can.... Tell them he is going to visit friends and maybe just not specify it is us? (Hard to think about a non-deceptive way of doing that...)

Do you mean take a break from it for a while and then pick it up again? Because that sounds like what you might need. The above sounded like you were going to forego a break from it all together.

Nah, but when I met him and tan and the rest of his family a few days ago they invited me over for Shabbat and shook my hand and we took pictures and everything... and then Aman revealed that I wasn't really one of his jewish friends from Israel but some filthy Internet Goy and they left me to the wind faster than you can say "Serial Killer"

Not sure, I mean, I pretty much take "breaks" whenever I need to already, haha.

If it becomes too much, its too much. If it isn't it isn't, the hows and whys don't really matter as in the end it comes down to circumstance and we'll understand.*

*Cryptic to English Translation: 'If you aren't able to continue that's ok, if you are that's ok, the how and why doesn't really matter to us as we can't affect this ourselves, its down to the hand you're played and we'll understand either way.'*

You'd be disappointed with me considering that I'm not as confident or as savvy with words in RL.

That's alright! I'm not nearly as descriptive a storyteller when I do it in person either (just because it's difficult to convey so much information in word form and in a way that your players will remember it. You need props and maps and a massive pre-written supply of stuff for that, and I just don't have any of that, most of what I do is on the spot save for some bare bones plotlines and character motivations, haha).

In the future, it's possible that games will be able to learn about their players and adjust the gameplay accordingly

Such a nice little bot  ;D
