Future of BHB
« on: March 08, 2020, 11:00:34 am »

Hi all, I've recently renewed the website again for another year, though I don't know how actively posting I'll be from here on out. I will however continue to check in a few times every week to see if anything has happened or needs addressed.

Hopefully something will change in the next year and I'll once again feel like putting more into this or expanding the BHB line again. As for now though, life has taken most of my time and energy elsewhere.

I really love what we have done with the place over the years and it's sad to see it beginning to show its age. But I look at it like the natural cycle of life - We had its birth, growing up, flourishing, maturity, and now decline. Sort of like myself haha!

I would still like to keep in touch with you guys, even if outside of BHB. Killa and I still haunt CYS and I'm working on my next Story there. Forge, did you say you run an online game? Maybe Lady Z and I can hop in on that sometime? Aman and Drak, what are you two up to these days?

As for Lady Z and I, we are going to be Grandparents here in the next month. You guys knew we were old, right? Lol! (But you can't say "OK Boomer" - cause we're Gen X, so there!)  ;) ;D

I do run an online DnD5e game through fantasy grounds and google hangouts, would love to have you guys join in for some games . My party is currently just about to fight a beholder for the first time having entered it's lair so.... will see how that goes since they already got themselves into a bad spot before it even fully revealed itself lol

I always keep an eye on here so will keep doing so, also looks like I might take a DM break during the summer so might spam ppl on here and try and run a short light game on here while my life isn't so busy.

Grats on the grandkids! My lil lady is about to turn 1 so I'm luckily a few years off that still :)

I do occasionally pop onto CYS as a lurker, not much in the lounge I feel like commenting on but I 'started' a new game in there (wrote the intro) and am hoping to do more writing there soon. Just so busy atm it still takes a back seat.

Nothing super new with me over the past year or so. Just been adapting to work. Congrats on the grandkids BZ, glad to know your family line's going strong :)

While none of us really have much time or motivation for any good old forum games anymore i'll definitely always look fondly on the time we spent on them.

I'd love to play some dnd over voice chat or something, especially after the new baldur's gate game comes out and I end up being forced to learn the 5e rules XD

Funny enough the CYS discord is mostly where I'm active now, if any of you are interested in joining it:  https://discord.gg/jzyDE47

I managed to get to work in Italy for 3 months, and got back just in time to not get quarantined.

Would still be up for doing a session if that ever comes to be haha.

Not that you asked, but I'll go ahead and tell you what's up in D's life these days.

.. Nothing much really. Just relaxing and having a good time in general, job is unstable right now because of the damn virus so not much to do really, which is a blessing in disguise considering the amount of stress factors that been piling up lately. Nice with a change of pace.

Gratz on the grandkids though! Thats one of the benchmarks of being old (or so I'm told).

Hope the virus haven't messed with your day to day life too much!

Edit: Oh, and I'm also up för a game, should anyone run one.  Been itching to play since I started listening to narrated D&D stories on YouTube.

So, we're still kicking lol!

The family and I are now settled in East Tennessee and love these beautiful mountains (or hills if you have ever seen the Rockies for comparison haha).

Still have not got internet though. But that is going to be fixed soon enough.

I'm also working on a new RPG to publish over on DriveThruRPG, a Chibi superheroes game called Chibi City Heroes.

Anyway, BHB will still be around and once I can get back to a computer rather than cell phone access, I'll be more active again.

Cheers everyone  ;D

Hmm... I suppose this BHB site is now an Archive more than a site. But it has had a good run. I'll be keeping it up for a few more years though, as I still use it to work on stuff in hidden forums.  :)

Damn, I'd have to dust off my roleplaying everything, been so long since I was in that mindset

I finished my dnd5e multi-year long campaign a bit before christmas... Then my group was so excited about the teasers I had given about the next one I ended up starting running it after 2 months off rather than 6...

Uh, does playing Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous count as an irl DnD campaign? XD

(Those are super good btw if you like dnd)

I've definitely been looking forward to playing Baldur's Gate III once it comes out fully

Hi all, It looks like its about time to wrap this BHB thing up - hey, 15 years is a good run haha!  8)

I have already disabled any new accounts and will probably let the site hosting end this year in March. Not 100% sure on that yet, as I may still want hosting for when I eventually get my Chibi Fantasy RPG finished.

Damn, you get old so fast!
