Yeh, literally you'll just have some stickers attached to you and a long speach about not pulling on the cables they clip to the stickers cos that ruins the reading etc. Then you just have a week to chill, read, game and check out the hospital food.

That actually sounds kind of totally awesome.

Not the seizures part though, that sounds horrible.

Hope you get it under control.

I hope so too. I blacked out last night and fell during a rather bad episode. I'm not allowed to drive anymore until we get this straightened out.

No syphilis, no MS, the only thing that's at all abnormal is that my brain is a little bit falling out the back of my skull.  But even that's pretty common, I guess.

I'm going to see a neurologist next month, to see if maybe that's all it is.

Falling out? um. In what circumstance is that now common?

Forge prolly knows more than I do about it.

I guess it's kinda like a hernia. A little bit of your brain falls down through the skull hole where your spine goes in.  It's not like more of it is gonna fall out.  I think. XD

Like 1 out of every 1000 ppl have it, it just doesn't cause problems in most of them. Might not even be causing me problems, just it's what they noticed in the MRI.

wicked, I've never heard of that.

Hope it's resolved quickly and that it is nothing major.

I'm so Farking sorry Seth, I didn't even think.

And yeah, like Killa said, he might not be dead. He got shot and then it faded to black, with the dude who did it saying "You'll be fine."

He wasn't on the Talking Dead afterwards, so maybe it'll be alright. Considering all the shit that happened with Glenn earlier this season, I think Walking Dead lost its nerve to kill off its main cast.

Like, come on. Denise totally stole Abraham's death scene the episode before. They're obviously trying to maintain the illusion anyone can die, but it's mainly been Alexandria red shirts ever since they got there. I thought they're supposed to be battle hardened by now, but apparently they're just cannon fodder still.

With Negan hopefully coming up next week though, maybe they'll change that around. I'd wager themto play it safe and probably kill a broken Carol, since she's apparently running out of usefulness, (Seriously, why the Fark has she been acting so weird lately? It might've had something to do with her killing the wolf, but for the most part her shift in attitude feels like it came straight outta left field. They're ruining one of the best characters!) or some random Alexandrian.

Carol thinks Morgan might be right. The wolf that she was so convinced was a terrible guy sacrificed himself to save the medic before. She wants to try and live a life without killing now, which she recognizes can't be done while staying in the group (who she would have to kill for).

Odds are Morgan won't come back. If he finds Carol he'll likely just continue on with her.

I'm so farking sick of TWD at this point. It's just a bunch of fake-out deaths. We all know they don't have the balls to kill a major cast member, except in season finales/openers.

Yeah, I figured it had something to do with that, but the onset of her change was so rapid I thought it was all an act at first.

Dunno, I feel like they could've gone about it in a better way. They lightweight hit the reset button on and tossed out 6 seasons of character development when they reduced her to a trembling she'll of her former self. Yeah, she's still a badass, but a badass who cries.

At least Rick finally has his shit together.

I agree with playa.  I understand the idea they're trying to sell, "the group always needs one person (Shane, Merle) who can be the pragmatic one and do the morally dark things that we need to survive so that the rest of the group can stay idealistic (Glenn, Maggie) but I can't be that person anymore" and it's a good idea, that could be a good story-- but I think dropping on Carol out of nowhere is a mistake.

Both because it does seem to come really abruptly, and because Carol was a good character in her own right, and it does feel like rather than advancing character development, they're retracting it.

Only thing I dislike is how they didn't show enough of Carol's regret to make such a quick transition reasonable. I mean, she literally killed a little girl before. Some flashbacks showing her thinking about that, or any of the other people she's killed in cold blood, would have mad her decision more understandable.

I just like the dynamic. Think about how once society rebuilds itself after a zombie apocalypse, there will be all sorts of new ways to dealing with death, the elderly, the sick, war, and general every day life, and the differences of death in cultures, and the possibility of a counter culture zombie rights movement.

I wish the show would go more in depth with the world shaping possibilities of such a universe, without getting tied down in the whole "We're losing our humanity... again... for like, six seasons now." I mean, even that could be okay if they did it well, if the writers didn't have such a tendency to be so melodramatic with their dialogue and pacing. They should take a note from the Supernatural writers, cause they're usually pretty good at balancing those things.

Biggest issue in the show is pacing.

That is to say, you can really tell it's a tv show, because it will have a episode or two that is just great, and then a bunch of ones that are just "drama". Not to mention their bad habit of forcing situations, and forcing solutions, rather than letting everything flow naturally.

I mean really, that stand off right after the medic died was fuuuuuuucking stupid. There is no way in hell any of them left that shit alive with around 10 people aiming guns at them, hence why the fight scene itself was a clusterFark of people just throwing cameras around.

Not to mention the fact Eugene didn't get his Farking brains blown out after he bit that dude's junk.

Still, that probably wasn't even the most wtf moment of the sequence. When Rosita shot that dude who snuck up on Abraham, and then they forget they're in a Goddamn fire fight for like 10 seconds to nod to each other.

Like Jesus Christ, I know what the show was trying to do, but trained soldiers don't Farking act like that. That shit gets people killed.

Human Shaped Monsters will be fun forever. Mankind has ruined itself, but also survived in part because of its ability to make enemies with itself. In the old days, there were monsters, and everyone who had beliefs that weren't yours was a heretic, or a witch, which is just a more corporeal form of demon when you consider all the shit that poorly educated peasants with wild imaginations will come up with. The Native Americans have the Wendigo, the Japanese have all kinds of vaguely humanoid things, the Europeans have vampires and werewolves, everyone has a witch or sorceror by some other name, and then there was the dirty Hun, and then there was the dirty Nazi, and now that we all have the ability to research our shit and realize that mostly everyone involved in wars is being an enormous asshole, our modern equivalent is the humble zombie.

Humanity should be able to make enemies. The ability for the brain to comprehend the concept protects us from dangerous animals and dangerous people, or things that just negatively impact the quality of our lives. The problem is, we're very defensive, so we seek enemies out, and it's sort of become a need for us. There was a Wild West Movie a long time ago where they let the bad guy live or something, because the people needed a villain in order to keep everyone rallied together and stop the frontier communities from falling apart. That's another thing monsters do, whether it's for entertainment purposes or from genuine fear, a monster brings people together, just as well and as quickly as a meal or a fantastic conversation*, and Zombies are like the universal monster, because unless you can cure them from their fully zombified state, you can battle them with reckless abandon and no moral qualms.

*Case in Point: Warrior Cats. Never before in site history have Aman and Naru been on the same team. Against Warrior Cats, that is...

Yeah, I saw it. Reminded me of Cube, but just in a single room.

They should have left the ending a mystery though instead of showing the aftermath of the one who survived.

Gotta disagree, the ending was a letdown, but not knowing what happened probably would've killed it for me.

Some of those people were just plain stupid as far as going about their survival though. I mean it was pretty obvious that outwardly acting like a ruthless dick and aggressively insulting other people was going to make one a target in that scenario.

Now quietly acting like a ruthless dick is another matter.

You really can't do much in that scenario. Just hope you're normal enough to not draw attention to yourself, and unique enough that if attention is drawn you're not killed off. It's more group dynamics than individual survival.

Zombie survival is far more interesting as far as "what would you do" as individuals.

So Daryl is on talking dead. :( BUT, there's a surprise cast member so not all hope is lost.

The Walking Dead from the perspective of Fean:

Read the graphic novels. Got super excited about the show, prepared to buy the first season on box set as soon as it was released cos I couldn't watch it while it was airing.

Talked to some people about it while it was two episodes in, then three episodes in, realized that they just pretty much took the name and opening then veered off to 'TVize' it for the American audience.

Heard more and couldn't be bothered watching it.

May or may not watch un in Netflix if I finish everything else I am watching first and nothing else comes out.

I'm a couple volumes into TWD at this point, and it's shocking how the quality of writing between the comic and the show differs.
