Geodude meanwhile, throws a Rockslide on Gengar for 11 SL Damage!

Upset by the attack, Gengar tries to Hypnotize Geodude, but the rock Pokémon resists falling asleep!

Brock throws a Pokéball, but the Gengar lets it pass though itself with no effect (big miss)...

Geodude's Rockslide misses, as Gengar dodges out of the way this time.

A duplicate Rockslide then crashed down on Geodude, as the Gengar uses Mimic - for 16SL Damage! Fortunately, Geodude only takes half due to his Rock Type.

Brock is hit by Pikachu's jolt, and unable to throw a second Pokéball. The Gengar is now flying pretty high up...

As Scyther and Pikachu fly up to Gengar, the Ghost Pokémon hits them with a Mimicked Thunder Shock!

The Damage isn't much - just 3 - with Pikachu taking half and Scyther taking double - but both Pikachu and Scyther are Paralyzed and fall out of the air at least fifty feet and crash hard for 20SL Damage each!

Gengar then flies away into the trees...

(Combat is over - unless someone goes after the Gengar...)

Bulbasaur manages to get a Hold on Gengar with his Vine Whip, which does 6 Damage (but only half to the Ghost Pokémon).

Gengar, determined not to get caught, Surges and hits Ash with Hypnotize – causing Ash to fall Asleep before he can even throw a Pokeball.

“I TOLD YOU – NO SAS!!!”Officer Jenny shrieks from behind Ash (still a bit confused) – and fires her bazooka at the Gengar!

The rocket shoots right into the wide-eyed Pokémon and crit explodes for 30 Damage!

When the smoke clears, a black-charred Gengar with ‘plus/plus eyes’ (+-+) then spirals slowly to the ground – completely toasted.

Officer Jenny, tosses a Pokeball on the thing – but it’s dead folks – and it evaporates into nothing and is gone forever…

Officer Jenny, now with her senses back, quickly pulls out one of the wildcards and summons a revive potion and tries to revive Gengar (only to capture it)

Then she awakes from her confused daydream and realizes that Wild Cards don't work that way, so she just breaks down in tears instead - having just murdered a poor helpless pokemon and all. She even goes so far as to wonder if she should arrest herself over it...

Officer Jenny stops weeping only to stare out at the ocean. "I dont know what came over me. i felt so confused..." She replied slowly and non-commitaly.

She then looks at Nurse Joy with desperation in her eyes. "If you got some way of reviving that Gengar please do it... i dont think i can live myself if you dont..." She says desperately to her.

Leaving the 'Scene of the Crime' the Team climbs up over the rubble and into the tower through the open breach on the southeast side.

A large circular well of roaring fire occupies the center of the chamber. Blazing brilliantly, it sends dark smoke rolling across the ceiling and out through the hole in the southeast wall. Cobweb-choked vents along the outside parts of the ceiling appear to have once been used to channel smoke out of the room, though the current damage to the tower has made them obsolete.

A spiraling stone staircase in the south wall winds up some sixty feet and disappears through the ceiling above, allowing access to the second floor.
